We are less than 10 minutes to Michaux State Forest, pick-your-own fruit, wine tasting, and several farm markets, and 20 minutes to Gettysburg and Liberty Mountain Resort.

It was remodeled with love 18 years ago and became a cozy family home, where children grew and memories were created. Our cabin is located on a private stoned road. Very quiet and remote location. Keep this in mind when booking. 25 minute drive to downtown Gettysburg, 40 minutes to Carlisle Fairgrounds. Near Michaux State Forest, Pine Grove Furnace State Park and Caledonia State Park; many hiking, ATV and snow mobile trails. For those that enjoy skiing we are 30 minutes to Liberty Mountain in Fairfield and 50 minutes to Roundtop Mountain in Lewisberry.

Mom's Cottage

Mom's Cottage sits on the shore of Lake Kay in the shadow of Liberty Mountain. Gettysburg battlefield is ten miles away and two golf courses are nearby. Jacks Mountain Road covered bridge, Michaux State Forest, including the Appalachian Trail, Pine Grove Furnace, and Caledonia SP are nearby. Other local features include Mount St. Mary's, Cunningham Falls SP, and Catoctin Mountain Park. A paddle boat and two kayaks are available.

The General's Hideaway is a vacation rental in Gettysburg's wine country, near Hershey Park and Ski Liberty. As you enter The General you will immediately feel welcomed by an expansive open floor plan spanning the living room with ample seating for your whole family along with a pool table for extra fun. The historic wood walls and flooring have stood the test of time since the original structure of the carriage house.
