Constructed from two old tobacco barns (with fireplace), this property provides a unique experience-connecting the past & present. The cabin is surrounded by nature’s beauty and Big Reed Island river flows only feet from the front porch. Set on 32 acres, the cabin has a large porch with rocking chairs perfect to enjoy views of the river & mountains. New addition includes an outdoor shower! Please expect no internet, a TV for DVD/CDs only and limited cell reception. Truly unplug & relax.

New River Trail Cottage

Built in 1880 by Dr. A.C. Shepherd, this historic cottage has served as a doctor’s office, a general store, and a boarding house. The cottage is located at marker p12 on the New River Trail. From the wrap around porch, you can listen to the rapids cascading into Claytor Lake. A boat launch is conveniently located less than 1/2 mile away offering free river access. (Please note that the river is not directly accessible from the property). It is the perfect location to play, relax, or both!

Yurt dwelling is indescribably peaceful. Our property is 150 acres, off an end-state maintenance road, though just a 20 minute drive off interstate 81 or to the quaint town of Floyd, or the VT area. This 24' yurt is beautifully modern with a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom/ shower, TV and (high speed) wi-fi, and comfortable sleeping and hangout spaces- surrounded by acres of streams, trails and natural beauty. Or take advantage of all the cozy indoor spaces we’ve created for relaxing (or reading or puzzling or playing a game). Enjoy the soothing sights and sounds of the water while rocking on the front porch. Close to many attractions in Meadows of Dan, Galax, Wytheville and Mount Airy. Please note that there is a $50 added fee for pets that is passed on to our cleaners.
