Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Make you trip to Edinburgh truly memorable with a stay at Craigiehall Temple. Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, it's Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". There are fantastic walks on the door step along the front of the river or up into the woods and Devilla forest (passing the 16th grave yard) Culross is the start of the St Andrews Pilgrim Way.

Our WiFi is not reliable ( 4G signal) so if you need fast and good wifi it is not the place for you. 1 double bedroom, the other bedroom has 2 single beds. If you need more sleeping space the living room has a single sofa bed. Fully equipped kitchen, microwave, coffee maker, washing machine, cooking stove. Shower room with shower, WC and basin We are in the countryside 1.7 miles from the village of Saline where there is a little convenience store.

Our Townhouse was commissioned in 1875 by local legend and world-famous, Andrew Carnegie and has been stylishly converted into a bright and modern home.

Beautifully restored in 2007 to the very highest standards, it was converted into 10 luxury properties, one of which is a conversion of the original "Great Hall" with its vaulted ceiling and majestic views across the formal grounds towards the Ochil Hills in the distance.
