Swinburne Castle is perfectly situated within its own beautiful parkland and gardens. Traditionally decorated, parts of the house have tremendous history dating back to the 12th century. The east wing is extremely comfortable and private, and don't be perturbed by the stone steps leading down to the vaulted cellar. A delicious continental breakfast will be provided in your rooms. Wildhope View is a cosy, romantic retreat with spectacular views of the rolling hills of the Aln valley and the, “18 arches” viaduct built in 1849 by Robert Stephenson.

EllinghamCottages welcomes you to The Signalbox, our gorgeous little studio. It's in the village of Ellingham, has a log burner, south facing balcony and a private enclosed garden. It's fully equipped for self-catering and is within a minute's walk of a great pub if you don't fancy cooking. Its name is our little touch of whimsy because we immediately thought of a signal box when we first saw it with its exterior wooden panelling.
