You can lie in bed and take in the panoramic views across beautiful kanamaluka/Tamar River to the hills beyond and the glittering lights of the city at night. Enjoy a local wine on the patio in summer or in front of the cosy wood fire in winter whilst watching for wallabies, cute little pademelons or our resident echidna. A lovely continental breakfast with homemade bakery items will set you up for a day of sight seeing.

Stunning views of Launceston and the Tamar River can be seen through the treetops and in the distance forested mountain slopes. Across the road, a trail leads down through Cataract Gorge. The property is surrounded by World Heritage Rainforest which is a result of the protracted Jackeys Marsh Forest Protests. The fresh air, crystal clear water, abundant wildlife and pristine environment are all environmental values prized by the people of Jackeys Marsh. We would now like to share our unique heritage with the rest of the world.

Birdhouse Studio 2 - An Architectural Experience

#birdhousestudiostas are two modern unique architectural, one bedroom houses hovering on a steeply sloping site with extraordinary views to the east over Launceston and the mountains beyond. Each studio has an individual personality inspired by the qualities of its site and a desire to create a sustainable buildings with the lowest possible carbon footprint and environmental impact. This accomodation will appeal to those with a design interest in architecture.

Eco self contained cottage in a garden.

This mini 1 bedroom house was our trial run in building our main home using passive house principles. We are approx 1 km from the centre of Westbury in a rural location. (You may be lucky enough to sight some of our local wildlife during your stay!) The cottage is suitable for a couple, however portacot , inflatable toddler mattress and camp bed for children are available on request. We provide a library of information about sustainability for guest perusal.

Tarcombe House is close to the centre of historic Deloraine with it's art & craft shops, antique shops, cafes, supermarket and gorgeous Meander River walks. Perfectly situated for the annual Deloraine Craft Fair and many other tourist attractions. It is cosy and very comfortable making it a perfect getaway for 1 or 2 couples travelling together. Each bedroom has it's own private ensuite. Deloraine is close to Launceston and Devonport and Cradle Mountain.
