The Garden House is a cedar cabin on a mountaintop in the Great Northern Catskills. Our house is setback by a long path, on a wooded lot, and very private. It’s a place to slow down, to recharge the mind & body, and indulge in the immense beauty of the mountains. It’s cozy, made for late night cocktails by a real wood burning fireplace, and for slow mornings at the kitchen table. Our area is all-seasons with skiing, hiking, waterfalls, dipping in lakes & rivers, and plenty of fresh mountain air.

There's hiking in the summer, skiing in the winter, mountain fresh air and dark, starry nights. This is a house, and you can treat it as such. Hunter Mountain Retreat nestled in the Trailside complex is steps from the slopes. During the ski season, you can walk through parking lot & ski down to get your lift ticket. The Kaatskill Mountain Club is on the opposite side of the trails where you can go for dinner or a drink at the bar. Activities include Zipline, Skyride, Disc Golf, Horseback Riding. Trailside is by far the best & most luxurious place to stay in Hunter. Our rates are very reasonable for the luxury & location.
