Electricity is supplied by our quiet & modern generator, which quietly hums away in the paddock. The generator is a simple push to start & is filled with fuel to power lights & appliances. Enjoy views, fresh air & a break from technology.

There is a small bedroom with a double bed/ensuite and a loft with an Ecosa sofa bed. There's no tv.

Just a short walk in either direction along the new beach path takes you either to the Pier Hotel, or past Hiku Restaurant and Encounter Kaikoura Cafe if walking towards the town centre which is approx 15 minutes away. Easy walk to the playground. The Cottage is small but cosy with everything you need, recently renovated, a secluded place to relax and enjoy Kaikoura.

This grand old lady, resting upon the hilltop in Kaikōura just had a facelift. Full of character and kiwi touches, this is the perfect place to bring the family, ditch the car and enjoy all Kaikoura has to offer. This kiwi ‘Bach’ has been enjoyed by hundreds of families over the years and is now under new management. Luxury linens, kitsch nick-nacks, family games and plenty of space are some of the highlights of the house. 2 bathrooms keep the queue short and the views won’t disappoint!

Black Mountain is situated in the foot hills of the Kaikoura Seaward Ranges and 6km North of the Kaikoura township. The home is designed for short and long term stays, is very private and enjoys a rural aspect. Bedroom, living, dining, bath and deck all enjoy mountain and garden views and it is possible to see the ocean from the surrounds. On arrival you will find freshly some freshly prepared provisions - probably enough for a little breakfast for two on me for your first morning!
