Sheffield is a small country town, 55kms west of Christchurch & 40 mins to ChCh airport. Several bigger towns are only 10 -12 minutes away and you’ll be close to many popular attractions : Waimakariri Gorge, Castle hill, Arthur’s Pass , conservation areas, ski fields, lakes, waterfall walks & mountain bike tracks

This apartment is situated 5 minutes off Inland Scenic Route 72 and less than 20 minutes from the friendly farming village of Geraldine. Use the apartment as a launch pad to local activities in Peel Forest (horse treks and bush walks), Lake Tekapo (ice skating, snow tubing, day spa and hot pools), Mt Cook (beautiful scenic walks and helicopter rides), or just a place to relax and escape from the hustle and bustle of town. We are a working farm running cattle, a couple of chickens and 2 dogs.

Picturesque one bedroom self contained cottage

Situated on the Inland scenic route [High way 72] and only a short drive to Mount Hutt ski field and the Ashburton Lakes /Lord of the Rings country.For a longer drive Geraldine is only 30 minutes away and the Gateway to the beautiful Southern Lakes . The cottage accomodation is totally private set in a beautiful garden setting in the grounds of the historic school house built in 1876. 20 minutes to Methven and 1 hour to Christchurch international Airport. Not suitable for infants/children.

The Double Tree Cottage is in an idyllic setting with expansive snow-capped mountain and farm views (seasonal). Mt Hutt Skifield, Opuke Hot Pools, Staveley Iceskating rink, DOC walking tracks and Methven Mt Hutt Village are all within a 15min drive. Located on our 32ha farm, watch sheep grazing metres from your door, native Kereru playing in the trees above you, or head out to many surrounding activities. Note: This is a mini studio style cottage so is very small and priced accordingly.

Mountain Abode Methven

Welcome to Mountain Abode Studio! The new place where you can stay to relax, unwind and explore what Methven has to offer. The studio is part of a newly built house which we moved into in 2024. Mountain Abode studio is attached to the main house but is a self-contained place with own bathroom, kitchenette and outdoor area. Guests will enjoy a snuggly king-sized bed, 65 inch TV and a comfortable sofa. Making it the perfect place to relax after a big day of adventures.

The Hygge Hutt

It may be tricky to pronounce, but the Danish term hygge (hooga) was added to the Oxford dictionary in 2017 and is widely used to describe a feeling. One of cosy comfort, quiet time and connecting with close friends and loved ones. Hygge is about enjoying the small joys in life, unwinding and taking things slowly. We've tried to bring that feeling to our new Methven Airbnb... a place to come home to when you're visiting this beautiful region.

Ideal for couples or small families, it offers the perfect blend of relaxation and outdoor adventure.
