Quiet neighborhood. Beautiful setting. Close to nature & many trails (waterfalls & mountain tops). Great stars at night. Deck w hammock, screened porch, gas log fireplace, satellite tv, wi-fi albeit slow, and a finished basement with laundry and separate entrance. 30 minutes from Sugar mtn skiing.

Dogs welcomed if on a flea preventative.

Main floor is up an outside flight of steps from the driveway. The finished basement with laundry is at ground level. The outside staircase connects the main floor with the basement. The wi-fi is DSL and due to this & the remoteness, slow.

The cabin sits in a neighborhood (Gingercake Acres) ideal for walks on gravel roads. At the very top of the neighborhood is the trail head for Sitting Bear Mountain, a short hike to overlooks of the Pisgah Nat'l forest and the Linville Gorge Wilderness. Also in the neighborhood is Table Rock Road (paved). This leads South to trail heads for Hawksbill and Table Rock peaks. The road switches to gravel and winds to parking areas clearly marked. Also nearby by car: Blue Ridge Parkway, Linville Falls, Moses Cone, Grandfather Mountain, tubing, rafting, snow tubing, skiing (Sugar, Beach), and zip lines.

My wife teaches school & we live where I work at a church camp near Orlando. My active father lives in NC across from our cabin and will host. He is a retired minister active in Rotary and the local community. I grew up in Charlotte, NC and spent summers as a child in the NC mountains. Sharing this area with others gives my wife & I joy. Our cabin is an extension of that feeling. We like hiking, reading, skiing, and zip lining.
