We live in Peaselburg, an old, diverse, modest but safe neighborhood in Covington (over 200 years old). There are some old residential streets which seem narrow/crowded, as there is parking on both sides since most do not have driveways. Most of our neighbors keep their yards and homes very well, while some renters down the street seem to not care about image. Very conveniently located, you'll have quick access to both interstates, Madison Ave, KY 16 and 17, Downtown, the Riverfront and all the attractions you want to see.
Covington is experiencing a renaissance. Many historical buildings in the urban core that were in disrepair are being restored. New restaurants, bars, boutique hotel, lofts, retail space and shops are opening all the time. These new places, as well as the tried and true, are an eclectic mix in this river city. Our sister cities, Cincinnati and Newport, are exciting places as well.
Steeped in German heritage, Peaselburg has a great variety of older brick, two-story homes, cottages, town-homes, and apartments. A mixture of cultural backgrounds, churches, public and parochial schools, grocery stores, corner pubs, and businesses can be found. Peaselburg cares about its neighborhood and watch out for one another.
