Built in 1888, Cats Castle sits in two acres on the seaward side of the A814, just beyond the western edge of Dumbarton. The property has wonderful views down the Firth of Clyde. Cats Castle is close to Glasgow, Helensburgh, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. The castle comprises three reception rooms, all with working fireplaces, a family kitchen, pantry, and five bedrooms, including the turret bedroom on the top floor. Suitable for family holidays or special occasions.
Cats Castle sits in grounds of about two acres on the seaward side of the A814, just beyond the western edge of Dumbarton. It is close to the conservation village of Cardross and about 6 miles from Helensburgh, one of western Scotland’s most desirable towns. Cardross is a quiet village with a respected primary school, tennis club, bowling club and one of the finest golf courses in west central Scotland. There is also a village store, post office and country pub. Helensburgh is a larger town offering more extensive services. The birthplace of John Logie Baird, the inventor of television, the town now offers an excellent range of local and specialist shops and supermarkets including Waitrose. On the Firth of Clyde, nearby Rhu Marina (8 miles) is one of Scotland’s most popular marinas with excellent facilities and easy access to some of the worlds most testing sailing waters.   • Stort hus i vacker miljö, perfekt för familjeåterförening som vi har haft här. Huset är fullt av karaktär men fortfarande med alla moderna bekvämligheter som vi behövde. Tänkte först att det kunde vara kallt med sådana höga tak i varje rum men det var inte nödvändigt att oroa sig. Huset var roast toasty hela helgen. Fantastiska vyer från alla rum, särskilt loungen och sovrummet. Det finns mycket att göra i området (även för en grupp av 8 kusiner i 50-talet är de inte vana till sena nätter längre!). Vi hade en stor Spa Day lokalt en dag sedan haft en fantastisk båttur på Loch Lomond från Cameron House på en annan dag. Men mestadels satt vi chilla och träffa varandra om god mat och gott vin i den vackra kattens slott. Skulle rekommendera.

  • Vår familj hade tagit min mamma här som en överraskning för hennes 70-årsdag och hon blev helt kär i stället, vi alla gjorde! Utsikten från windows, log brinnande eld, sovrummet och den underbara matsalen var höjdpunkterna för oss. Katter slott överträffade helt våra förväntningar och vi ville inte lämna! Allt var perfekt och platsen var fullständigt ren! Vinet och shortbread kvar i köket var en härlig liten touch också. Förhoppningsvis kommer vi tillbaka snart !!

  • Kattens slott är ännu bättre än det ser ut i fotografierna - en stor mängd utrymme och vacker utsikt från alla fönster. Gemma och Paul gjorde allt väldigt lätt, ner för att säkerställa att värmen var på när vi kom fram och lämnade en fin flaska fizz i köket. Det är en fantastisk plats att bo för en stor grupp, och vi hoppas vara tillbaka!

    Modern, refurbished upper-level tenement in the heart of Kilmacolm. With one large bedroom allowing for either a twin bed or super-king size bed configuration. You'll also find a recently refurbished and fully fitted kitchen and bathroom. In the living room we have a cosy fireplace and soft leather sofa where you can kick back and relax with views of the ancient Kirk in the distance. There is WiFi throughout the apartment with a smart TV installed with Netflix, Spotify and other apps.
    Our flat is nestled in the Countryside of West Scotland. The flat is only minutes walk away from everything you may need to access locally; whether a trip to the boutique wine shop, baker, fishmonger, local market or even a trip for a pint at the Pullman bar - all is within a walking (or indeed stumbling) distance!
    Kilmacolm is a quiet, calm and friendly little Scottish village with the hustle and bustle of Glasgow and surrounding areas only short drives away. The airport is itself only 20 minutes drive away and is never on a busy route allowing for a quick drive whatever the time. Gryffe taxis (01505 325000) and Alpha taxis (01505 323111) are also good local companies to choose should you wish to hire a taxi.

  • Boendet är elegant, ljust och bekvämt. Vi fick ett startpaket med färsk mat, t.ex. mjölk, bröd, ägg och apelsinjuice. Även andra häftklamrar som te, kaffe och spannmål fanns tillgängliga. Rummen var mycket rena med massor av handdukar, sängkläder och linne. Det var en smart tv och WiFi ingår plus ett fullt utrustat kök. Lägenheten ligger i hjärtat av Kilmacolm och alla bekvämligheter som stormarknad, kaféer, restauranger, kyrka och bibliotek ligger inom några minuters promenad. Kilmacolm är en vacker miljö för en avslappnad landad vistelse. Det är en bevarandeby som lever upp till den status som denna titel föreslår. Lokalbefolkningen är omtänksam, vänlig och hjälpsam. Byn har en stark samhällsanda och välkomnar besökare. Margaret, vår värd, var extremt, hjälpsam och stödjande med ändringar i sista minuten till vår bokning. Hon var snabb med att svara på frågor och ingenting verkade för mycket besvär. Jag rekommenderar starkt den här lägenheten.

  • Var redo att klättra några trappor för att komma till lägenheten men det har en härlig utsikt med utsikt över byn Kirk. Butiker ligger 2 minuter bort med en co-op, postkaféer och presentbutiker. Det fanns alltid gatuparkeringar nedanför eller i en liten parkeringsplats några meter längre bort på vägen. Vi tyckte att det var väldigt tyst i lägenheten. Du har allt du behöver för en kortare vistelse och det mesta för en 9 veckors vistelse !!! Margaret och hennes man var verkligen hjälpsamma och när det var problem med kranen var de på det direkt. Vi kan rekommendera en vistelse här.

    Very comfortable clean spacious home from home. The house is a detached villa with wheelchair access and has 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, laundry room and a gym. There is a large double bedroom down stairs next to a large wet room and toilet which would be suitable for someone with mobility issues / wheelchair. The village of Renton is a 5 minute journey from Loch Lomond by train and 15 minutes by bus. The city of Glasgow is 40 minutes by train and 60 minutes by bus

    The village of Renton has its own small Robert the Bruce Centre with lots of information on local history it also has the great Carman fishery up Carmen Hill which is a beautiful 20 minute walk from the house. The house is located for easy journeys by road and public transport (bus and train) to picturesque Loch Lomond and Helens burgh as well as trendy and historic Glasgow
  • Utmärkt gästfrihet och Bernadette är verkligen trevligt! För ensamresenärer utan något fordon som jag är detta fortfarande ett utmärkt val om du vill besöka Loch Lomond. Även om det inte är direkt bredvid Loch, men du kan komma dit med en buss i Alexandria, som är som 20 min promenad från Bernadettes plats.

Its defining feature, Dumbarton Castle, is a must-visit place. Throughout history, Saint Patrick, Vikings, William Wallace, Mary Queen of Scots and many more famous people have had connections with it. What is the connection between Dumbarton and tea? As a major shipbuilding town, Dumbarton was the place where the famous tea clipper Cutty Sark was constructed in 1869. It was the fastest clipper on Earth at that time and the Maritime Museum in the town centre lies on the site on which it was built. For outdoor lovers, Levengrove Park sits at the confluence of the two rivers, directly facing Dumbarton Castle. My place is ideal for those wishing to explore the Clyde coast and nearby islands of Bute, Cumbrae and Arran. In addition Loch Lomond is a mere thirty minutes drive away.

The location is private and has 2 private parking spaces underneath the property. This used to be the old school sheds, now parking bays. The river Gryffe can be heard running as it is close by. Bridge of Weir is centrally located in Renfrewshire and suitable for those who like the countryside on the doorstep, with good links to Glasgow.
    The accommodation is a few minutes walk to the main restaurants in the village. Amarettos Italian and The Coach house are more that adequate for a great meal in friendly relaxing atmosphere. There are all other amenities within the same proximity including a supermarket.

Finlaystone Estate has extensive woodland walks and beautiful gardens and is just 20 minutes from Glasgow and 30 minutes from Loch Lomond.
    The barn is on the upper floor of the Oak Framed building and feels a bit like a large loft. The open plan set up gives it a roomy feel. It has 1 large double bed plus a sofa bed can be made up for an extra guest. Being recently built, the building is well insulated and snug but there is a wood burning stove for extra warmth as well as electrical heating. If you have difficulty with stairs or want a larger barn we have a separately listed one on the ground floor which can take 2 to 6 people in similar style.
    The Estate is 20 minutes from Glasgow and about 12 minutes from the airport, with easy access to places such as Loch Lomond about 30 mins away. Edinburgh is 60 mins by car on a clear run so we are a great base for a few days of Scottish tourism. The world class golf courses of Troon, Prestwick, Gleneagles and Loch Lomond are all within an hour drive and the islands of Bute and Arran are close by also.

    Our flat is in a lovely old building which dates back to the 19th century, so if you’re looking for bags of character and old period features, this is the perfect choice. However, if you’re looking for modern, sleek lines and pristine living, a more modern apartment/building may be better suited! The ground floor apartment is very cosy with dark tones, natural wood and lovely soft furnishings. There is a HD 4K TV, compatible with your laptop, with smart TV apps, Netflix, YouTube, BBC IPlayer etc and fast broadband internet throughout the apartment. The bedroom has a large walk-in wardrobe and full-length mirrors, as well as a dressing table overlooking the private garden and utility with washing machine.     A comfortable room in the foothills of the Kilpatrick Hills, overlooking Dumbarton and the River Clyde to the South. The house is located for easy journeys by road and public transport to picturesque Loch Lomond as well as trendy & historic Glasgow. In-house complementary therapies also available. We live with our lovely dog, Dexter. Whilst the shared spaces are definitely not going to win any prizes from lovers of show-homes, these spaces are clean. Guest-room and the bathroom are clean & tidy.
    We have a small semi-detached house and the guest room is up a short flight of stairs. In the room is a double bed with bedside tables & lamps on both sides, along with available power sockets, a wardrobe, drawers, a heated drying rack and and an oscillating fan (these live in the wardrobe); and a TV with Freeview & a Bluray player (there are a selection of films available to borrow from downstairs & you can also use Netflix & catch-up TV services). The room is well decorated with good quality bedding. It has a radiator to keep you warm in the winter and we can always provide additional blankets if necessary. Each bedside drawer unit has a hot water bottle in the top drawer. In one of the drawers, you'll find a hairdryer, and on the other side, there is a small first aid kit available if you have need of it. There is a great view from the bedroom to the Kilpatrick Hills, beyond our back garden there is nothing but fields! The bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom and has an excellent shower, towel rail, toothbrush charger, etc. We provide towels. We are happy for guests to use our kitchen and dining table with the understanding that these form the backbone of our personal space. As such, these spaces may be found to be messy at times, but always clean. We sometimes have a clothes airer up in the kitchen, particularly in the autumn and winter months. If mess bothers you, or you just want to relax in your own space, then there are little folding tables in your room for you to eat at. Your bedroom and the bathroom will always be clean and well presented. We have good mobile phone reception here but of course will make our wifi available for any internet junkies! We have a couple of bikes available for hire, a mountain bike and a hybrid, both small/medium size. We can supply locks and helmets too, plus maps/advice about the best local routes. Please ask if you want any more details. Prices are £5 each per day, and we're happy to negotiate a discount if you want them for a few days. Amy works as a complementary therapist, so if you're feeling tired, stressed out, or just wanting some tlc whilst you're away from home, you can book in for therapeutic massage, reflexology, Indian head massage, ear candling, aromatherapy massage and aromatherapy facials too, mere steps away from your bedroom door. She is insured and is a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapies, so you can be confident of being in good hands. Costs for the above therapies are as follows: Reflexology - £20 Indian Head massage - £18 Ear Candling - £15 Massage (Swedish, Aromatherapy, Acupressure and Neuromuscular): £15 for 30 mins; £18 for 45 mins; £22 for 60 mins.     We live on a quiet street so you'll be able to hear birds singing, which is always nice. For the more adventurous (preferably with sensible walking boots) you can explore the fields to the back of us and get some great views of the local area. There is a local convenience store 5 minutes walk away (which also has a cash machine) plus several take-aways and a small community cafe are about 15 minutes walk away (or a couple of minutes by car).

Jag är så glad att jag gjorde det, jag kunde inte ha önskat mig en bättre plats att tillbringa lite tid ... Mycket bekvämt och rymligt, och inredningen är så modern och elegant. Lägenheten är helt enkelt perfekt, du kan inte fel det på något sätt. Bra läge, nära till allt och allt. Med den vackraste utsikten över floden. Jag älskade det faktum att det finns en Costa Coffee precis runt hörnet (jag är lite av en coffeeholic) och 24 HR Tesco snabbköpet var också mycket bekvämt ... Poolen och bastun är också mycket trevligt, och bara lagt till hur trevlig min vistelse var. Jag skulle definitivt stanna här igen i framtiden, utan tvekan ...     The village of Renton has its own small Robert the Bruce centre with lots of information on local history it also has the great Carman fishery up Carman Hill which is a beautiful walk 20 minutes from my house. The house is located for easy journeys by road and public transport ( bus and train) to picturesque Loch Lomond and Helensburgh as well as trendy and historic Glasgow

  • Verkligen haft min vistelse här. Trevligt medelstora rum, stort kök, lätt parkering, utmärkt läge nära Loch Lomond och inom några minuters mataffär, takeaways, etc. Bernadette är en utmärkt värd, och jag skulle mycket gärna stanna här igen om jag får chansen.

    It is private and warm and nicely furnished 2 new single beds~bedside cabinet~lamp etc The room is up the stairs so very private. The stairs are not what i call steep a mature couple made a remark about them being steep but no one else has mentioned this!!   • Härlig stuga belägen intill ägarnas hem. Vi ringde ägaren för att säga att vi hade kommit och hon kom och visade oss till vår stuga och hur uppvärmningen fungerade osv. Stugan blev snabbt varm och mysig. Det ligger i en riktigt vacker trädgård som du är välkommen att använda och till och med har en bubblande ånga genom den. De två sovrummen och badrummet och köket är nere och det stora främre rummet är på övervåningen. Sängarna är bekväma och varma. Det främre rummet har härlig utsikt. Det finns en massiv Tesco's cirka 5 miles bort i Port Glasgow för alla dina behov och en liten Co op i en närmare by. Loch Lomond är mindre än en halv timme bort för en super dag ute och vår son som studerar i Glasgow var 20 minuter bort så en super plats för oss.

  • Huset var rent och hade allt du kunde behöva. Det var som ett hem hemifrån. Sängarna var bekväma köket var fullt utrustat. Loungen / matsalen på övervåningen var rymlig och bekväm med utsikt över Clyde. Jag rekommenderar starkt den här egenskapen.

  • Lägenheten hade en ganska udda layout, med sovrum, badkar och kök nedervåningen, och en mycket härlig vardagsrum och matplats upp en ganska utmanande spiraltrappa. Köket var utrustat mycket bättre än genomsnittet, vissa kanske klagade över att det var en förlägenhet med rikedomar. Vi kunde lätt ha lagt på en bankett för 20 med platsinställningarna tillgängliga i olika stilar. Sängarna var de bästa vi hittade i någon av AirBnBs i Skottland under vårt två veckors besök där. Steph var diskret men mycket tillmötesgående. Grunderna och trädgården är extraordinära. Fotot på listan gjorde inte rätt till logi - det är mycket vackert, privat och säkert.
