    Update - Mar 2020 - we would just like to assure everyone that we are open for business if you would like to come and enjoy the beautiful outdoor spaces of the Cotswolds. Our barn is detached so our guests have their own space. A lovely rural barn with walks on the doorstep and Regency Cheltenham only a short drive away. The barn has an open plan living area with one double and one twin bedroom. We are pet and child friendly with an enclosed patio and open lawn area with an adjourning orchard.
    Thanks for looking at Yew Tree Barn. It is in a lovely area in the middle of the stunning Cotswold countryside while still only a short drive or bus journey to Gloucester or Cheltenham. The barn accommodates four people with one double and one twin bedroom with a great social open plan living space. All bedding and towels are provided. The kitchen area has a oven, hob, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, toaster, kettle, microwave and cooking utensils. The lounge has a TV, dinning table with four chairs, and two sofa's. Please note that the bathroom only has a shower. We provide a selection of games, tourists guides and walking books on the local area. Outside there is a secure patio with table and chairs which is accessed by bi-fold doors with fantastic views up towards Birdlip Hill. Beyond the patio is a lawned area and orchard available for dog walks. There is free off road parking right next to the barn for a maximum of two cars. If you need extra parking please contact us before your stay and we will try and accommodate this. We supply a welcome pack which consists of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and a sweet treat to settle you in. The barn is pet friendly and your four legged family members are very welcome. We are close to the Cotswold Way and there are many walks on our doorstep. There are lots of walking guides in the barn for you to borrow. Please note we do provide free WiFi but as we are in a country location with no access to cable the signal strength can be weak and intermittent at times. A travel cot can be made available for a additional cost of £5 (own bedding required). Bank Holiday weekends are a minimum 3 night stay (Fri, Sat, Sun) Stays over Christmas are a minimum 3 night stay with (24th-26th).
    The barn is situated just south of Cheltenham in the middle of the Cotswolds. Cheltenham has lovely restaurants, shops, theatres and many festivals each year including the famous Literature and Jazz Festivals. There is also a race course which is host to the Gold Cup in March each year. In the local area there are many stunning Cotswold towns and villages such as Cirencester, Tetbury, Broadway, Stow-on-the-wold, Moreton-in-Marsh, Bourton on the water, Burford, Chipping Camden, Painswick and Bibury. The Cotswolds is fantastic for walking with over 5000km of footpaths and rights of way. If you enjoy a challenge there is the Cotswolds Way and Thames Path national trails. If you prefer cycling there is something for everyone from flat gentle towpaths to challenging escarpments. Only half a mile from our barn is Flyup 417 which offers 100 acres of off roading in a unique bike park. If you like a bit of history then there are many historic houses and castles to explore including Snowshill, Newark Park, Woodchester Mansion, Kelmscott Manor, Sudley and Berkeley Castle. Animal lovers will not be disappointed with the Cotswolds Farm Park, Cotswold Wildlife Park, Cotswold Falconry Centre or Crocodiles of the World. We have lots of tourist leaflets, guide books and walking books in the barn for you to borrow during your stay but if you would like to plan ahead have a look at www.cotswolds.com.     The Landers is a very well-equipped, black & white timber home, dating to the 17th century. Sleeps 10 across 3 king-size rooms and 2 twin bedrooms with 2.5-bathrooms. Combines original features - two open fireplaces and oak beams - with modern facilities, including a pool (1 May-30 Sept), fantastic kitchen-breakfast room, 2 reception rooms, 2 modern bathrooms and 3 garden areas with parking for 6 cars. This spacious, dog-friendly property has a shop, pub and restaurant less than a mile away.
    The Landers was originally two farmworker’s cottages which over the years have been combined into one long and spacious Cotswold home, cleverly updated with an extension on the rear. The black and white timber exterior belies the modern facilities within, notably the contemporary kitchen and breakfast room, family bathroom and shower room. This spacious five-bedroom holiday home has two characterful living rooms both with Smart TVs – one with an open fireplace – and a dining room that comfortably seats 10 with an inglenook fireplace. Outside, the three garden areas provide a fantastic choice of areas to relax and play in, from the country cottage front garden to the huge lawn and Garden Room, and the swimming pool (open 1 May-30th September) with its surrounding patio, BBQ, chiminea and lawn. The Landers is in the hamlet of Little Witcombe, three miles from the M5 motorway, eight miles from Gloucester, six miles from Regency Cheltenham, 12 miles from Cirencester and 10 miles from Stroud. The nearby A46 road provides easy access to all the towns and villages of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty including Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Burford. The remains of the nearby Roman Villa is proof of the area's long history, as is nearby Prinknash Abbey, which dates back to 1096. Full Property Description Ground Floor Side Entrance/Utility Room The Landers has a beautiful original oak front door, which leads into the front hallway. However, guests are asked to enter the property via the side door, stepping into a spacious Utility Room. This area, with stone floor and padded bench is perfect for removing shoes and boots, keeping a dog basket and doing the washing and ironing. The Utility Room is kitted out with a washing machine and washer-dryer, iron and ironing board, clothes airer, vacuum, cleaning items, double and stainless-steel dog bowl. Straight ahead to: Kitchen The Landers’ beautiful, contemporary Kitchen stretches the length of the back of the house from the Utility Room to the breakfast area at the far end, where there’s an enticing hanging ‘egg chair’ and a pantry where the highchair, stair gates and baby chair is stored. The Kitchen is fully equipped with everything guests need for a self-catering stay, with a double electric oven, five-ring induction hob, fridge, freezer, wine fridge and dishwasher, plus a full range of utensils, crockery and glassware. The polished stone floor, with underfloor heating, perfectly complements the immaculate and polished preparation surfaces. The Kitchen overlooks the swimming pool, patio and pool garden. At the Utility end of the Kitchen is a spiral staircase leading up to Bedrooms 1, 2 and 3 and the Family Bathroom. A side door leads out to the swimming pool. Cloakroom Beside the spiral staircase and next to the door leading out to the pool is a handy cloakroom, with a W.C., washbasin and heated towel rail. Living room Leading off the Kitchen’s breakfast area (down one step) is the cosy and inviting Living Room, which combines the original cottage features of open stone fireplace, wooden floor and beams with contemporary furniture and a large flat screen TV and DVD player. The comfy sofa and two armchairs seat seven comfortably. The armchairs are kept in an alcove, an ideal spot for reading or listening to music, yet being part of the rest of the group watching TV. Hallway The impressive oak front door opens into an original cottage hallway, now situated between the Dining Room and Living Room, and features a beautiful 17th century wooden arch. Guests will find a desk and brochures of local places of interest. It’s a handy area to store large suitcases and coats. Dining room The superb Dining Room features the original inglenook fireplace, with an open fire, and a long wooden table to comfortably seat 10 guests. (Most guests only light the open fire in the Living Room as it can get too warm sitting at the dining table with the fire blazing.) The Dining Room overlooks the pretty front garden and Ermin Way. The Dining Room connects to the Kitchen in one direction (up one step) and the Sitting Room continuing to the far end of the house, towards the main garden. A door off the Dining Room leads upstairs to Bedrooms 4 and 5 and the Dressing Room (see below). Sitting Room Connecting with the Dining Room, Entrance Hallway and the main garden through French doors, the Sitting Room is a great place to relax or watch TV in the sink-in sofas, which comfortably seat five or six guests. A corner cupboard houses the travel cot (Joie brand) and baby bounce chair. This room has a wonderful view down the length of the main garden to the raised Garden Room. From the Kitchen ascend the spiral staircase to the first-floor landing: First Floor Landing Seating Area At the top of the spiral stairs is a cosy seating area, with two Baroque-style armchairs and power points to charge devices. It’s a great place to relax and read. Bedroom 1 This spacious master bedroom features an impressively high vaulted, A-frame roof with original, exposed beams and stone chimney breast. The bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed on a solid oak bed frame, bedside tables with reading lamps, two chests of drawers, one with a mirror, a comfy armchair and a long hanging rail with hangers. There is plenty of room to set up a travel cot and other baby equipment. The bedroom overlooks the front of the house and the main road. Bedroom 2 The second king-size room, with a cosy cream, chocolate and coffee colourway, is furnished with a king size bed, double wardrobe, bedside tables and reading lamps, a comfy armchair and a full-length mirror. Featuring a beautiful Cotswold stone wall - the opposite side of the stone chimney breast in Bedroom 1. The bedroom overlooks the gravel parking area and the main garden. Bedroom 3 This pretty twin room, with a relaxing cream, grey and burnt orange colourway, features two, full-size single beds with a shared central bedside chest of drawers and reading lamp and a chest of drawers with a three-way mirror. This bedroom overlooks the swimming pool. Family Bathroom A beautiful and spacious bathroom, combining contemporary styling, a walk-in shower (with detachable shower head), dual flush toilet, washbasin with large mirror and heated towel rail with a freestanding Victoriana-style roll-top bath. Finished with polished grey tiling, dark dove-grey walls and wood effect flooring. Head back to the Dining Room and up the wooden staircase – mind the low beam - to: Landing-Dressing Room Directly outside Bedroom 4 is a large dressing room area furnished with a sofa, coffee table and double wardrobe (for Bedroom 4 and 5’s guests’ use). It’s a lovely area to get ready to go out, curl up with a book and have a quiet read, or for setting up a travel cot. Bedroom 4 One step up from the Dressing Room is another impressive double bedroom, featuring original oak floorboards, beams and a fireplace (not in use). Furnished with a king size bed, bedside tables with reading lamps and large wall mirror. Bedroom 5 This pretty twin room, with a cream colourway and accents of mossy green, features two, full-size single beds with a shared central bedside chest of drawers and reading lamp and a chest of drawers with a three-way mirror. The bedroom overlooks the swimming pool. Family Shower room Sitting conveniently between Bedroom 4 and 5, the Family Shower room features a beautiful walk-in shower with a curving tile wall (with overhead and detachable shower heads), a double wash basin unit, dual-flush toilet and heated towel rail. Outside The Landers has ¾ acre of land divided across three gardens and a large gravelled parking area accessed via a gated, private driveway off Ermin Way. To the right of the driveway. as you approach the house. is a large lawn with mature trees and fabulous elevated, wooden Garden Room, approximately 1 metre off the ground – an ideal hang-out for youngsters. (Access to the Garden Room is via 6 wooden steps and the sides are open; it is not suitable, therefore, for young children to use unattended.) To the front of the house is a pretty English-cottage garden with roses and lavender, a bistro-style table and chairs, and bird feeding house. Guests can access this garden through the front door or via a side gate. Swimming Pool And, finally, the property’s great attraction for late spring and summertime visitors the 9.6m x 3.5m swimming pool (available from 1 May to 30 September) and pool garden. The poolside garden has a lawn, a large patio, a charcoal barbecue, outside seating for 10 guests and a chiminea. The swimming pool can be accessed through a gate off the parking area, which can be secured to stop pets and small children from entering, or through a door off the Kitchen. Pool towels are provided.

Food shops The closest small supermarket is a Cooperative food store in Brockworth, just under a mile away. In the same location you’ll also find a fish & chip shop, Chinese takeaway, bank and laundry. If you like fresh, homegrown produce, head to Primrose Farm Shop and Pick Your Own, 1.2 miles away. For larger stores, head to the Gloucester Business Park just under 2 miles from The Landers where you will find a Tesco Superstore, Domino’s Pizza, Costa Coffee, Subway and Greggs (plus a David Lloyd Racket & Health Club). Coop Food Store: 2, Abbotswood Shopping Centre, Abbotswood Rd, Brockworth, Gloucester GL3 4NY Tesco Extra: Gloucester Business Park, Delta Way, Gloucester GL3 4AA The Landers is just 6 miles from Regency Cheltenham, with a wide choice of restaurants, bars and cafes, independent and household brand name shopping, the Everyman Theatre, the celebrated Gold Cup Cheltenham Racecourse, and world-famous jazz, literary and science festivals. For other great walking routes, visit 'Cotswold AONB' - it is the best source of local information and you can download maps (walking and cycling) for free. For shorter, family friendly walks head to Crickley Hill Country Park (a 4-mile drive to the car park) Leckhampton and around Charlton Kings. (See the Cotswolds AONB website.) Or for a quick stretch of the legs, turn right out of the cottage, then almost immediately left towards Gt Witcombe and the Parish Church. Continue along this country lane to St Mary’s Church and a brief explore before heading back again. Cycling FlyUp417 Bike Park is less than a mile from the Landers and is a haven for ultra-keen and pro mountain bikers. This 100-acre bike park just outside the centre of Gloucester is the biggest privately-owned mountain bike facility in England. It features downhill trails, an indoor pumptrack, a dirt jump barn and field, as well as the unique ‘uplift’ feature, with transport for you and your bike back to the top of the hill after a descent. If you can’t bring your own bike, bikes are available for hire. Guests can store bicycles in the covered, open shed next to the house. Skiing & Snowboarding The Gloucester Ski & Snowboard Centre is just 5.5 miles from the Landers. There is a 255-metre main slope, a freestyle slope with Snowflex Fun Park (and features on selected nights), a 40-metre nursery slope, a dedicated tubing slop, button tow ski lifts, a big air bag – for practising freestyle manoeuvres, a fully licensed café/bar with food and ski and snowboard hire. Sightseeing Local sights include Prinknash Abbey (3 miles from the Landers - GL4 8EX) and Great Witcombe Roman Villa (1 mile from the Landers - GL3 4TW).

    There is a mini-fridge, toaster, kettle, and small breakfast items available in the room. Wi-fi available. Longer-term guests can arrange to use the washer, dryer, or fridge in the main house if needed. Lovely outdoor garden space free to use, and parking available.
    Near to parks, just a quick walk into town with lots of good coffee shops, food shops and pubs along the way. Gloucester's famous Kingsholm Rugby stadium is around the corner, and ‘Roots’ community cafe is highly recommended, just down the road.

    Comfortable double bed in bright and airy bedroom with sash windows, high ceilings and luxurious touches. The room also has a full length mirror and desk with space to work. Shared bathroom, with rainfall shower. A range of breakfast options are provided in our kitchen, with space to sit and relax. Our place is 20 minutes' walk from Gloucester city centre, and a 5 minute walk from Gloucester Royal Hospital. Off street parking is also available. We also share our home with three friendly cats!
    The space is the guest bedroom in our flat, in a converted grade 2 listed, 19th-century hospital building. The bedroom is bright and airy, with huge sash windows and high ceilings, and the bed has a sprung double mattress with memory foam (something many of our guests have loved!). The bedroom also contains a full length mirror, plus a desk/dressing table with Hollywood style mirror. In March 2018, we had a super-soft and luxurious new carpet fitted. You will also have full access to the lounge, which includes a 75 inch TV with built in apps, and to the kitchen facilities including breakfast foods, microwave and oven if you need it. The coolest thing in our kitchen is the boiling tap - make a cup of tea in seconds! The bathroom is shared, clean and tidy. The bathroom is east-facing, so for a few months a year you can shower in the sunrise for a calming start to the day. Our flat is located 20 minutes walk from the city centre and Gloucester train and coach station, with easy walking access to Gloucester Royal Hospital and related buildings. Guest parking is available in a marked, quiet space.
    Being close to central Gloucester and the hospital are two big perks of living here, along with the bright rooms and open space. Despite the central location, the neighbourhood is reasonably quiet and the neighbours are friendly. Parking is available - no visitors permit required as guests use the space registered to our flat.

  • Jag hade nöjet att vara den första personen vid Adams lägenhet och hade nöjet att han var vår värd. Han var oerhört lätt att kommunicera med, flexibel med incheckningar och utcheckning, lätt att prata med, bekväm att leva med och en bra värd runt om. Vi kände oss mycket välkomna och verkligen haft vår vistelse. Vi hade en utdragbar soffa och platsen var densamma som beskrivits online, en utdragbar soffa i loungen bredvid köket. För alla framtida personer som vill vara med, var snäll och det finns inget skåp eller förvaring, men det finns gott om plats allt så att du kan placera ditt bagage. Sammantaget var en fantastisk upplevelse och lägenheten belägen 15 min promenad från Gloucester centrum. Det finns en busshållplats inte långt som vi tog till Cheltenham också. Jag rekommenderar starkt den här vistelsen till alla som ser fram emot Gloucester på en central plats utan att behöva bussar etc.

The annex is within the grounds of our family home within the village of Brockworth, a few minutes walk will take you into the countryside. Local shops and services within 5 mins and a great local park for children. A great location to be visiting local events and attractions such as the Cheese Rolling event and Witcombe Cider Festival as well as great days out at Prinknash Abbey Animal Park, Painswick Rococo Gardens. Great local walks to be had at Crickley Hill and Robinswood Hill. To visit the many Cheltenham Festivals it is also very easy, by car or bus, and just 15 minutes away. The annex is located just a minute from a regular (every 10 minutes) bus service from Gloucester to Cheltenham.
    A great space to be ideally located to tavel easily to Cheltenham, Gloucester and the Stroud Valleys. 5 minutes from the M5 and 1 minute from a regular bus service stop.     The accommodation is arranged over two floors. Downstairs it comprises a hallway with access to 2 very comfortable and tastefully decorated bedrooms and a bathroom with separate shower and bath. The upstairs contemporary open plan sitting, dining area and fully equipped modern kitchen is accessed by a charming spiral staircase. Dog owners please note: Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. They must be paid for in cash (to the owners) on arrival. The fee per dog is £25.
    The Living Space Converted from a stable block are two delightful cottages built in traditional honey coloured Cotswold stone, originally a part of an 18th Century Coaching Inn, which was then called The Crown. The stables, were used to accommodate the extra horses required to help pull the coaches up Crickley Hill. The property was bought at the end of the 19th Century by Sir William Thistleton-Dyer who was a director of Kew Gardens. Whether he had renamed it or not we are unsure but at that time it was called “The Ferns” then Crickley Court and the sloping land at the rear of the house was apparently well looked after and contained many rare and unusual plants. The cottages are situated within this beautiful setting, surrounded by the vast gardens which are very picturesque. Each has its own private garden and there is also a separate children’s play area with swings, slide and trampoline. Crickley Court Cottages are situated on the side of Crickley Hill, an area of outstanding natural beauty. We have good links to ALL parts of the Cotswolds via the A417, M5, A46 and A40. We are also very close to Crickley Hill Country Park and also many parts of The Cotswold Way. They are ideally placed to visit the many attractions, villages and towns of the Cotswolds.
