This log and post and beam cottage, 3,000 Sq ft, provides enough room for families and friends to get together and enjoy "Life on the Lake". The gourmet kitchen is well equipped with double oven, spacious fridge, dishwasher and everything you need for healthy cooking. The cottage is furnished with comfortable antiques, and designed for relaxation. Main floor is Mexican tile. This beautiful cottage is perfect for three couples or 6-8 people. The cottage has three private bedrooms and a den, two living areas, solarium with two dining areas, two living rooms and a huge kitchen. Two wood stoves to keep you cosy and a gas stove in the spacious master bedroom, built out of huge logs. Wake up amongst the trees filled with bird songs. Our home is located in the forest and is somewhat rustic. We have a small cabin by the lake, a cedar strip canoe and a row boat, no motor. We have books, DVD's, games, CD's. Perfect for small groups, families and wellness retreats. Pickerel and bass fishing. Swimming and camp fires in July and August. Gorgeous colours in fall. Snowy white winters for snow shoeing and skiing. Fishing in spring. Come explore the Almaguin Highlands, local artisans, Restoule Park, and lots of nearby lakes. Three golf courses in the area. The Almaguin Highlands lies next to Muskoka. We boast beautiful scenery, lots of lakes and hidden gems amidst the rolling hills. We are situated between Powassan and Commanda. We are not far from Restoule Provincial Park. For $15 per carload you can explore the park, which offers five different levels of walking trails, and a beautiful beach. There are numerous Artisans, a local bee factory, maple syrup producers and a large Amish community. Saturday morning fresh organic produce can be purchased at the Farmers' Markets in Powassan and North Bay. North Bay is 45 minutes by car and is home to the Cheif Commanda, to explore beautiful Lake Nipissing, you will also find many restaurants, music venues, excellent biking trails and beaches, and it hosts Summer in the Park for music lovers. Powassan hosts an anual Maple Syrup Festival in the spring, the Smoke & Spurs rodeo in the fall, and many other events. Nippissing Rosseau Trail is nearby for history buffs to explore. Stargazing on the clear nights. For winter-nature lovers, we are five minutes from official ski-doo trails, and ten minutes away from dog sledding and skijoring. Other winter activities in the area are snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, down-hill skiing, snowboarding, fat-biking, tobogganing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and ice skating.
