A stylish open plan barn conversion, with gorgeous uninterrupted Cotswold countryside views. It's in a private setting, perfect for couples or solo visitors. Situated on the edge of a beautiful village, it's an ideal base for enjoying all the Cotswolds has to offer, including great walking and cycling, lovely country pubs and famous cultural/sporting events in nearby Cheltenham (@10 miles). Alternatively you can just relax, enjoy the scenery and do nothing at all.
We are perched on top of a hill on the edge of a beautiful and typical Cotswold village in an area of outstanding natural beauty. At the top of our driveway, tucked away from the main house, is our barn. If you are looking for something a little bit different but with a modern feel, gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside and privacy, then this will be for you. Our pool house was converted from a small stone barn and, as the name suggests, there is an outdoor pool and one side of the building looks out on to this (though it's only open June-August). The other side looks out on to uninterrupted views of magnificent rolling hills, complete with sheep, pheasants and birds of prey. Outdoor furniture is available. Inside it's a little non-conventional, and is open plan, with a mezzanine bedroom area that has a huge gable-end window and an 11-rung wall-fixed ladder to get you up to it. Up there is a low-level double bed and a cargo net that pulls across the mezzanine opening for extra safety, if needed. NB We are very sorry but this won't be suitable for anyone who cannot ably and confidently use a ladder to go both up and down. There is a separate toilet with a small hand basin and a walk-in overhead shower (please note no bath) with a connecting changing area where you can also store/hang things out of the way. The main room is open plan and has a kitchen area with an island and seating for 6. It's well equipped and includes gas hob, electric oven, fridge with small freezer box, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and kettle (no washing machine/dryer). There is a huge, very comfy corner sofa for relaxing and there's a TV with an Amazon Firestick with a small selection of channel apps including Netflix and Amazon Prime. It has under floor heating throughout. Please note we do not have curtains on the massive sliding doors on each side, however it is private where the barn is situated with no buildings overlooking it. There are removable blackouts that can be used on the gable-end window on the mezzanine/bedroom level, for those who prefer less light when sleeping. Outside there's a lovely deck and beyond the pool is a private garden area leading on to a paddock. Wifi works very well, mobile not very well at all, though you can hook-up to the wifi and use wifi calling, if you have it and that works perfectly.
Our area is very beautiful, very green, very quiet and very rural. This makes for a relaxing and peaceful stay. It's also super-dark at night as we have no street lights. If you are looking for night-life you'd have to go to Cheltenham (15 mins drive, cab possible with a bit of pre-planning). Please note you will have to drive to get to a pub or shop.
  • Fantastisk utsikt och välisolerat på vintern.

Escape to our country estate in a picture book Cotswold village. Our welcoming family home combines old fashioned charm with modern conveniences. All of our beautiful bedrooms are en suite (shower or bath). Lots of history, uneven floor boards and low doorways in places and some dogs and cats! We provide you with a wholesome, proper cooked breakfast. It is not a self catering house. Dinner or supper can be provided by arrangement, as can lunch if so desired. It is very much a home vs hotel.
This rambling old house is full of character with lots of unexpected nooks and crannies. It has a happy atmosphere and is wonderfully peaceful. Bring boots or possibly borrow some so you can enjoy country walks on our doorstep! We are only minutes from Cheltenham and Cirencester so we are ideally situated for business travellers and also holiday makers.
The estate is situated in a designated "AONB" (area of outstanding natural beauty) and we would be delighted to share some of the joy of living in such a place with you. Rolling hills, Cotswold stone walls, sheep and even occasional soaring buzzards.

Staying at Demeter gives you private and independent accommodation in a cosy self-contained detached garden annexe, which is situated in a small village in the delightful Cotswold countryside. Provisions for a continental and/or English style breakfast are provided for the first night as experience shows that longer stay guests prefer to cater for themselves. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
Situated in the garden of the main house, the annexe was originally built as a 'granny flat' and, therefore, is particularly well adapted for elderly and/or people with impaired mobility. It is completely self-contained, well-appointed, warm and cosy; with an option to use the futon in the lounge as a single sofa bed. A travel cot (<2 years old) is available.
Situated so near Cirencester, we are ideally positioned as a central base for touring around either the northern or southern Cotswolds, attending events like Cheltenham's Literary Festival, Badminton's Horse Trials or Gloucester's Three Choirs Festival. However, if you just want a relaxing break from everyday life, cycling or walking ( with or without a dog), there are great routes from the village on the easy footpaths or bridle ways, and every chance of seeing an abundance of wildlife, especially watching the buzzards, kites or deer.

In our beautiful Cotswold garden, wind up through the rockery to this sheltered hillside spot, with its very own private deck and seating area, offering gorgeous views to the surrounding village, nestled in idyllic countryside. This light and airy, but warm and cosy studio has a super comfortable kingsize bed, a desk and a separate stylish modern bathroom, a lovely deep bath, and a very efficient shower attachment if needed. You will be living under the eaves, so headspace is a little limited.
You are welcome to potter about our large garden.
We are just 2 minutes walk from the Seven Tuns Pub, which is a quintessential Cotswold country pub, with good food and roaring log fires - this is a great place to while away an afternoon or have an evening out without any need to drive. We are situated in the most beautiful countryside with miles of footpaths. We have a beautiful church and a Roman villa in the village and a farm shop that serves an all day ‘bottomless’ breakfast. Nearby Cirencester has great independent shops and a Waitrose. Also highly recommended for food is The Village Pub at Barnsley and The New Inn at Coln St Aldwyns. There is also a village taxi service, if you need a lift home. Needless to say, we are right on the doorstep of all the well known cotswold villages and beauty spots, so this is an excellent location from which to tour around.

Härligt läge i en lugn, pittoresk by.

Escape for a relaxing Cotswolds getaway. Riverside Cottage is a charming old stone cottage located in the picturesque hamlet of Compton Abdale, nestled in a valley in the heart of the Cotswolds, about 10 minutes drive from Cheltenham, Northleach and Bourton-on-the-Water.
Compton Abdale is a quintessential Cotswold hamlet in a glorious valley. In the centre of the village a natural spring treasured since Roman times gushes water out through the head of a crocodile carved in stone. From the crocodile a steep path leads up to the old church of St.Oswalds. Just below this path sits Riverside Cottage just a few steps from the crocodile along the lane bordered by the little stream of spring water that flows under the cottage doorstep. Duck your head as you open the old front door! On your right is a tiny dining room with a fireplace and a little round table to eat at. Continue through to the well-equipped galley kitchen to put the kettle on. Make your way back through the dining room around to the cozy sitting room where you can settle into an easy chair to read. We have good, fast internet and wi-fi that covers the whole house, but we do not have a television, so bring your laptop for a Netflix binge weekend! By the side door off the kitchen is a rustic flagstone patio surrounded by high stone walls. It's a great place to sit out in the morning. Upstairs are two bedrooms, each with a double bed. The ground floor bathroom with a large bath and integral shower completes the house. An oil-fired boiler provides heating throughout the cottage and copious supplies of hot water (the fireplaces are more of a decorative item than heat source, but a log fire can add to the general coziness.) It's small, but truly charming and the house is tastefully furnished with antique country furniture.
The ancient village of Compton Abdale, on the outskirts of Cheltenham, is very secluded but easily accessible. There are no shops or pubs in Compton Abdale, but the neighbouring town of Northleach (in fact, a large village) offers a general store, a really superb butchers, an award-winning pub, a newly refurbished wine bar, a café and a Post Office. Nearby Cheltenham, reputedly one of the most complete Regency towns in England, boasts many beautiful listed buildings and hosts cultural activities ranging from music and theatre to cricket and horseracing. With many unspoilt Cotswold towns and villages within a short drive and walking routes running (sometimes literally) right by the doorstep, this wonderful cottage is a perfect holiday destination all year round.

Welcome to Willow Tree Cottage, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Willow Tree Cottage is a beautiful detached property, which backs onto open fields in the heart of the Cotswolds village of Chedworth. With a popular local pub and farm shop, this unspoilt village is well placed for walking in the beautiful surrounding Coln Valley, and is close to Chedworth Villa, once one of the grandest Roman villas in the country. Northleach and Cirencester are close by, offering a range of shops and dining options, and the many picturesque towns and villages of the Cotswolds are all within easy reach. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Willow Tree Cottage is a detached property located on a quiet road in the heart of Chedworth. The grounds of the cottage are entered through a lovely beech archway, which opens onto a large gravel driveway. The front door leads into a hallway, and the following rooms are on the ground floor: Reading room: A bright and airy dual aspect room, with two wing back armchairs and views out to the garden; Kitchen/breakfast room: The well-equipped kitchen has an electric cooker, five-ring induction hob, fridge, freezer with ice dispenser, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is also a sociable seating area with an ornamental fire place and a wall mounted SMART TV, which contains a dining table and seating for four; Living/dining room: A spacious room with an impressive exposed Cotswold stone wall, oak beams, and a large inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. There are two sofas and a wall-mounted SMART TV, plus a large dining table with seating for eight. A door in the corner of the living room reveals a secret staircase behind the fire, which leads directly into bedroom 2; Utility room: A useful space with a washing machine, tumble dryer and wash basin; Cloakroom: Contains a toilet and wash basin. Stairs lead up from the ground floor to the first-floor landing which has a small desk with work lamp. The following rooms are on the first floor: Bedroom 1: A characterful dual aspect eaves room, which overlooks the front and back gardens, and contains a king size bed, vanity table, arm chair and built in wardrobes. This room has a large ensuite bathroom, which contains a bath with handheld shower attachment, a large walk-in rain shower with additional shower attachment, toilet and wash basin; Bedroom 2: Another lovely eaves room overlooking the front garden, which contains a king size bed, a large chest of drawers and a wall-mounted TV. The room is accessible from the first floor landing, and it also has direct access to a steep spiral stone stair case, with a rope barrier, which leads down into the living room. There is an ensuite bathroom, which contains a walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin; Bedroom 3: This is a very unusual secret room, which is accessed via what appears to be a cupboard in bedroom 1’s ensuite bathroom, which opens up to reveal a small doorway into an eaves room containing two single beds. Due to the low doorway, restricted ceiling height and access via bedroom 1’s bathroom, this bedroom is only suitable for children up to the age of 14. Willow Tree Cottage’s beautiful garden surrounds the property, and contains a small pond and a variety of trees and plants. The garden rises up behind the cottage, and includes a lovely lawned area looking out over a meadow towards the local church. There is an outdoor table and chairs in the garden, as well as a charcoal barbecue during the summer months. The gravel driveway in front of the cottage has parking space for four cars.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". Not a modern house in sight! Just a clutch of pretty cottages, a medieval village square and church – a Cotswolds bubble of peace. The Guggle is quirky, there's a classic cottagey beamed sitting room with an inglenook fireplace, games, well-thumbed Penguins, sofas to relax on... it's a homely space for families. The hub is a light airy kitchen where you pull up a pew at an eight seater table; and look out to the west-facing enclosed cottage garden, perfect for for al fresco meals and run-around space for the kids. For a first night or treat, order locally cooked pies and crumbles: delicious. There are four pretty bedrooms. Up a spiral staircase (not suitable for the elderly or infirm) to the first floor there are two beamed bedrooms which share a shower room, upstairs to the second floor there is a beamed master bedroom with en suite bathroom, a further double bedroom room and en suite shower room is on the ground floor. You can stroll to the pubs and shops in the village, cycle along the Cotswold lanes, walk along beautiful pathways or drive to National Trust houses and gardens Chedworth Roman Villa, Sherborne Lodge.
The quirkiness of the cottage, it's very old c.1600 so expect low beams, spiral staircases (carpeted), exposed cotswold stone walls, and the unique Guggle room, a domed Cotswold stone room, with original 1700 wall painting.
One of the Cotswolds 'forgotten' towns, with lovely places to eat and drink, bakers, butchers and village shop

Local amenities A quiet and seemingly remote parish, Cowley is only a 20 minute drive to Cheltenham and 30 minutes to Cirencester. One of the main features of Cowley is Cowley Manor, which was owned by the Horlicks family and is currently being used as a contemporary country house hotel and spa. The local parish church of St. Mary lies next to the Manor and dates from the 12th century. The village pub is the Green Dragon, which is not far from the Gloucestershire Girlguide HQ, Deerpark. Cowley also has a strong Sunday cricket team, which plays at the nice ground towards the west side of the village near the Green Dragon pub. The village used to own its own village hall (which used to be the old school house), however the parish council have sold this in recent years and it has been converted into a private residence. With a pub, hotel, church, and Girlguide HQ, Cowley can still boast quintessential English village features such as the post box and telephone box (note that the telephone box is no longer in use, and now houses a public defibrillator) making it a thriving example of Cotswold village life. The local town and shops are in Cheltenham, and many people who live in the village work in Cheltenham, even though Cirencester is only 30 minutes drive away. The village consists of approximately 40 houses and they are scattered around a circular road that curls up the edge of a small valley and then runs back down the bottom of the v shape. The 'back lane' has only two houses on it compared to the higher lane that holds most of the residents. Further up the small valley is a collection of three houses on a hilltop. You will know that you are entering Cowley from the A435 as you pass through two large pillars either side of the road entrance, existing from the entrance of the Cowley Manor estate. The road is beautiful on sunny days as the long avenue of lime and horse chestnut trees splinter light across the road. For emergency supplies, a Sainsbury’s Local is within a 5-10 minute drive from Westerleigh Cottage, located on the Cirencester Road in Cheltenham. The store was built in 2015 and is relatively well stocked with good parking. Address: Sainsbury’s Local, Cirencester Road, Cheltenham, GL53 8DB Tel: 01242 844630. Opening Times: Monday – Saturday 07:00 – 22:00 Sunday 07:30 – 21:30 Bank Holidays 07:00 – 22:00 For the closest good pub, head to The Green Dragon in the village of Cowley, serving traditional pub food, wine, beer and fine ales. Address: The Green Dragon Inn, Cockleford, Nr Cowley, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL53 9NW. Tel: 01242 870 271 For more recommendations of things to do and see, see the Guidebook.
Green Dragon pub matade oss väldigt bra. Vår favorit del kan ha varit fårbetet i bakgården och utsikten utöver. Rekommendera starkt denna plats!

The rural village of Chedworth is in the heart of the Cotswolds but within easy reach of Oxford, Stratford-on-Avon Bath and Cheltenham, even London for a day out with good express coach and train services nearby. Stonehenge is also accessible in a day and you can visit Avebury on the way back. Cirencester is the local town (7 miles) with excellent supermarkets and independent shops. Northleach (4 miles), is a small market town, with a particularly good dining pub, The Wheatsheaf. The cottage is set in a peaceful spot on the edge of the village and from it you can explore the surrounding hills, valleys, streams, rivers, lakes and villages. This is also good biking country. Cotswold Waterpark, a vast landscape of lakes south of Cirencester, offers a variety of water sports and nature reserves.

We are located in one of the most beautiful villages in the Cotswolds, surrounded by nature and breathtaking views. For walk lovers, footpaths start in different parts of the village. One footpath starts right outside our cottage and it's a magical walk. The village has one very known and very good pub. Other Cotswolds towns are only short drive away. We are a couple and we love sharing this beautiful space with travelers or anyone who wants to spend some time in the beautiful countryside.
A very beautiful cotswolds stone cottage located in the heart of Chedworth. Guests have a private room with a private bathroom, a small table, tea and coffee. They also have access to a private lounge with a TV, books and board games. They have access to the kitchen and other common areas too. Continental breakfast is available in the lounge or in the kitchen, but they can request it in the bedroom if they prefer it. We have four cats, so not a great option for people who don't like animals or are allergic.
The village has one of the best pubs in the Cotswolds. It is located a very short drive away or a twenty minute walk from the cottage. A farm shop is only a five minute walk away. The renowned Roman Villa is a beautiful forty minute walk away or a short drive. The neighborhood is very quiet and friendly, with plenty of incredible countryside views. There are many walks that start or go through the village into the surrounding woods.

No. 32 is a lovely stone cottage in the Cotswolds, in North Cerney, near Cirencester. This pretty 2-bedroomed cottage is situated next to our home, so creating the perfect cosy, comfortable retreat has been somewhat a labour of love. Our aim is for you relax, unwind and make the most of your surroundings when you stay at N.32, so during your holiday you will have exclusive use of our gated drive, a private patio and a lovely, large back garden complete with fire pit and children's play area.
LOCATION N.32 is located in the heart of North Cerney village, next to its little primary school. The cottage is set back from the road and looks out onto a pretty cottage-style front garden. A 5-barred gate opens into the spacious driveway between N.32 and our home (you will have exclusive use of this drive throughout your holiday). ACCESS The cottage , though it shares its back wall with our annexe, is detached on three sides, and so feels private. It has two separate entrances, one at the front of the house, and the other to the side. GROUND FLOOR Entering through this side door you find yourself in the light and airy kitchen where you will find everything you will need to be able to cook away from home without compromise. The ground floor layout is open plan, and as a result feels unusually light and airy for a traditional cottage still rich in character. We have created zones for lounging and dining and provided plump cushions and warm throws to encourage you to take some time to curl up next to the fire with a book, or treat yourself to an indulgent afternoon snooze. For younger guests, next to the TV we have provided a selection of board games and there is an XBOX One with two controllers, complete with a selection of games suitable for children 12 years and under. UPSTAIRS The bedrooms are reached by stairs by the side of the kitchen area. All rooms lead off a small, carpeted landing, among them a light bathroom, equipped with WC, bath and over-bath shower, and a study/utility room laid out with desk, chair and washing machine (available for your use). Both bedrooms look out onto the pretty cottage-style front garden and are each equipped with fitted wardrobes. We have taken care to create the bedrooms we would choose to sleep in with calming colour-schemes, high quality furniture and 100% cotton bed linen with a high thread-count (300 minimum). PATIO & GARDEN A highlight of N.32, particularly during the warmer months, is the access to outside space. The study/utility room opens out onto a spacious, private patio, the perfect space for eating al fresco or relaxing and soaking up some sun. Table tennis is also provided for those feeling a little more energetic! We would like you to really feel at home at N.32, and so during your stay you will have exclusive use of our tiered, lawned back garden complete with children's play area with wooden framed swings, walkway and slide. For long, lazy nights under the stars, we have created a cosy stone circle with fire pit for you to enjoy. Our aim is for you to feel that you can make full use of the garden, and so will respect your privacy and refrain from using it during your stay. We may occasionally sit out on our own patio (separate from that of N.32 and not visible from N.32's patio) at times when the garden is free. CHILDREN & GARDEN SAFETY We would suggest that currently N.32 is not suitable for children from crawling age to 5 years old due to potentially dangerous aspects of the garden: The garden is on an upper level and there is a large stone staircase running down to the parking area from the edge of the garden, which is currently not child-proof. Both garden and parking area are gated, however again these are not completely child-proof as are unbolted at present. Our aim is to improve this and make the cottage and garden safer so that we can welcome families with toddlers and very young children, but this is a project for later this spring/early summer. **NEW!** Looking for ADDITIONAL BEDROOM SPACE so parents/grandparents/friends can stay too? You can have access to a double room with private ensuite in a lovely house just 2 minutes' up the lane from No.32 - please message us if interested for details.
North Cerney itself is a small, pretty village boasting a good traditional pub and surrounded by rolling Cotswold countryside - so plenty of opportunity for walking! The village is situated just off the A325, a pretty road which links historic Cirencester and impressive Cheltenham. We are the perfect base from which to explore the Cotswolds, by car, bike or even on foot - we are a 15-minute drive away from access to the Cleeve Hill-Bibury section of the Cotswold Way.

    Laurence2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
Spot on, tack Shan och Howard.

    Dan2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
