There is nothing I love more than a good yard sale or consignment find. Not because I am cheap, but because I love the "reuse" in reduce, reuse, recycle. I love a great yard sale, a vintage find, or a great trade among friends.
Lift Up is the local's secret for brand name clothing (everyday adventure-ware) at ridiculous pricing!!. Like any consignment or thrift store, it is hit or miss. Lift Up is ALWAYS a stop when I am back in town.

It's extremely expensive, but worth a couple of days if your child has never skied before and you are not a trained instructor.

Drink Water, watch the alcohol on the first night or two.
The altitude may affect you. The best way to combat altitude illness is rest and water for the first few days. The worst way is to drink to excess while still acclimating.

Check out a sleigh-ride dinner
There are a number of sleigh-ride dinners around town. My favorites are the snow cat dinner to Ragnars on top of the mountain, or the traditional versions west of town. Checkout yelp or google for advice and locations.

Head to the beach in the summer!
The ski area has a fantastic "beach" where the creek is highlighted throughout the base area. This is fun for kids to "Swim" in the daytime or to sit in the wooden beach chairs in the evening. It's a great place for a wine and cheese picnic on a summer evening.

Sarah Kostin, Children's Librarian at Bud Werner Library is absolutely the best. Be sure to check out this local favorite attraction for local kids!
