Food scene

Absolutely delicious food, with a heavy focus on amazing fresh fish dishes. It's a little bit of the pricey side, but it is worth every penny. Book to avoid disappointment!

Lovely local Indian, with fantastic curries. When I was growing up, we must have gone at least twice a month. Both me and my brother recommend the Dilrubar Curry, its this cheesy, slightly spicy curry. Also does take away delivery!

It’s a lovely new restaurant in the local village that started out as a food truck near the local park. It’s really good, Indian inspired street food

City/town information

If you are after a charming little village, situated in its very own valley, this place has stunning, stunning views. Recommended for walking, you can park in the bottom of Edale, and go on loads of different walks. I would recommend either Jacobs Ladder, or for the more 'hardcore' walkers, a trip up Kinder Scout, the highest peak in the Peak District! There is the wrecks of an old fighter plane that crashed when there was bad fog up on the top of the moors there, I haven't been able to find it myself, so bonus points for that! My friend found it this summer, and it looks very impressive!

Sightseeing

Really scenic views, and is near Edale. A fantastic walk, and for those who aren't into the steep climbs of the Peak District, you can park right near the top. Whilst you are here, take a drive down Winnits Pass, its stunning.

Lovely woodland walk (includes a really steep bank, sorry!) that you can easily get to from either the Shepards hut or the barn. If you go left on the gritstone trial, keep following the sign posts. When you get to a lightly wooded area, walk through there, and then turn left, slightly doubling back on yourself. Follow the signs, and you should come to a style in the corner of the field. Go down the steep bank and enjoy the really quiet woodland walk. Theres a really nice waterfall which our Jack Russel loves to swim in.

Lovely national park area with its own herd of roaming deer! If you turn right out the Shepards hut, go onto the road, turn right and walk for roughly 0.2 miles, you should see a track on your left. Go up there, follow the gritstone trial and you will be able to drop down into Lyme park. If you take this route, you will see the herd of deer on your right (they are fed there!)

An incredible valley area with loads of super accessible walks. You will not run out of walks in this area. In the walks you will find lovely waterfalls, little streams, ruined halls for photo opportunities and more. Couldn't recommend it more

Great for a traditional Bakewell tart! And just a lovely village to have a wander around, however its a bit far, so if you're coming from down south, I would recommend visiting on your way home (you can easily join the M1 afterwards).
