The Hunters bay trail winds it's way through part of Huntsville and a portion of Hunters bay, which is where the log booms used to be floated in to the mill that once stood in downtown Huntsville. The Hunters bay trail is also a portion of the TransCanada Trail. A lovely walk for anyone!

Sightseeing

Lions lookout is a great spot to get the overview of what Huntsville and area looks like from more of a birds eye view! Even after 30 years of living here, I'm always astounded at how much rock, trees and water we live around in this area~

If you've never been to see 'Screaming Heads' you really should make the effort to go! Just outside of Burkes Falls. These unique concrete heads (and some hands too) were the creation of Peter Camani (a retired art teacher) obviously with time on his hands. A great place to go for a stroll around the acreage to see not just the heads but other unique features. A must See!!

This is a lovely local lake, just 2kms from Stonewood Airbnb. There is a dock and public access if you'd like to go for a swim or put a canoe or kayak in the water (if you've brought one). Just continue down South Waseosa road until you come to a fork in the road and see a sign for 'Camp Huronda'. Turn, as if you were going to the camp, but stop just short of the driveway that leads into the camp. Park your car on that little stretch of road and head to the left where the lake is. There is a fairly short but step trail to the lake but it's well worth the effort!
