Where I go to unwind.
These are my favorite spots that I visit each time I make it to the area. Fairhope and the surrounding areas have so much to offer for everyone that I could never begin to create a proper guide. I hope you can visit my spots and I hope you like them as much as I do.
This is the first place I go whenever I get into town. The coffee loft played a big part in why I made the decision to make this town my vacation home. I love the atmosphere as much as their mudslides. If you like coffee this is a must. The menu has anything you could want. They also have snacks and lots of different bagels to choose from. They also have T-shirts and other things you can purchase. If you go I recommend parking in the back. The parking lot is small and it’s a busy place normally. The attached photos are not mine.

The scenery is unbelievable. The way it feels and smells is a sure way to unwind. I prefer to miss the small crowds and I’m a night owl so I like to visit at night alone. There is a giant water fountain surrounded by a flower garden and that’s the breathtaking view when you first top the hill. Everyone throws in coins and makes wishes here. There is a walkway by the water and benches scattered about. There is a restaurant at the end of the pier. The park is located right beside the pier and is just as beautiful. You can fish, swim, eat, feed the ducks and see an alligator. The ducks are vicious and will chase you so be warned :) Attached photos are not my own.

This is a great place to visit alone or with the family. I enjoy feeding the ducks and running from them. The alligator always fascinates me. He has his own little pond at the far end of the park and won’t bother you. You will be arrested if you bother him. 😳There are places to grill and picnic. People swim here. A few play sets are scattered about as well. It is well shaded. Restrooms are available. Also known as Fairhope Beach. The attached photos are not mine. They do not do the area justice either.

This is my favorite most relaxing drive. My kids as well. The scenery, especially at night, the smell, everything about it gives me an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia. On this short drive from Fairhope to Mobile via the causeway, the scenery changes drastically and each sight is beautifully unique to this area alone. Seeing Mobile loom into view at night always makes me smile.

I, as well as my children, have always been fascinated with this tunnel. Maybe because it’s underwater? This is where our short drive on the causeway leads us.

Alligators right in the middle of town in Daphne! They have their own park. We love going here. Do not attempt to feed the gators, especially their favorite food, marshmallows. You will possibly, likely, be arrested. I almost was once. 😊

My food scene
I really love the causeway! Can you tell? The best fresh seafood and scenery in the country is right here. Each time I visit the area, it’s tradition now, I take my family and friends to the causeway, to their restaurant choice, and we eat like it’s Thanksgiving. I usually moan and groan and threatened to leave the entire hour or two we have to wait but I’m always relieved I didn’t before it’s over. The food is unbelievable and the fun we have is priceless. It doesn’t matter which restaurant you choose. Doesn’t matter which entree you order. You can’t go wrong. Fried soft shell crab and crawfish are my favorites. I’d drive or fly 2000 miles to come here.

You have to visit this massive farm. Not only because of the exotic wildlife but because of the walk through nature. You can hold baby gators if you dare also. Lots of kids have their birthday parties here. It’s a very popular area for locals and tourists.
