There is far more to Brecon than just a stroll around the shops. There is a cathedral, a military museum, a promenade along the river where you can hire out boats and a canal where you can also take a boat ride or a stroll along the canal towpath. There are also regular market days and a monthly craft market & farmers market

Make a Day of it and have a walk around Hay on Wye town centre and then a scenic tour back along the Gospel Pass, passing Hay Bluff and calling in Capel Y Ffin church, CwmYoy church and Llanthony Priory. A rare opportunity to visit ruins of an old monastery that now also contains a pub!
