Kalas og Kanasta is a good restaurant for new Nordic cuisine and it’s got a sushi restaurant called Sabrura which has ok+ sushi

A nice walk is to walk from the apartment, down the main road to the playing ground (also a train station), than walk under the train stop to the pedestrian side to the left. Follow the road to the rock museum and walk the parade to Skansen. It has a great scenery to the fjord, nice viewpoints and parks.

How to get around Trondheim
In city centre you can walk almost everywhere. If you need to go somewhere working or similar the bus connection is great. You can take bus from the bus stop (by the Asia shop). You can download AtB for bus connection, which is for the whole city and suburbs.

The winters can be harsh
Best advice for winter clothing is wool, merino wool and wind stopper jackets. Wind stopper mittens are preferred as the fingers heat each other and keeps you warm much longer. Shoes should be warm preferably with fleece or wool inside and use wool socks. Caps and beanie is Great as most heat escapes from your head. Always have 2 shifts of inner wear

Saving tips
Food is exspensive for foreigners. So here are some tips. During school year you can eat at the KIT (NTNU art academy) it’s a 5 min walk from the apartment (from 11 to 13:30) mon-fri for 60 or per meal, which is a bargain. You can also buy food at rema 1000 Møllenberg which is quite cheap. Another tip is Kebab which costs around 100 kr, and contains a meal.
