Turner is Margate's own. He painted the town no end of times during his life. The region here has been an artist hotspot for centuries, the homes next to our property were sometimes graced by the likes of Christina Rossetti, for example.
This gallery here hosts regular special exhibitions and is a fantastic place to visit on a trip around Margate old town.

Sightseeing
The sea and bay here are enclosed by the town's cliffs making it a warmer beach than elsewhere by several degrees. It is one of our sand beaches and great for volleyball, games and sandcastle making alike. The Town has plenty of lovely small shops to explore. Broadstairs was home to Charles Dickens and the restaurant in his home 'Bleak House' is well worth a visit.
