For those of you who know about the Calgary Stampede, you'll know that this annual 10 day festival in July offers something for everyone - from rides to games, rodeos and shows, parties and music (of all types) - make your way down to the grounds. I highly recommend the daily rodeo, chuck wagon races, and evening show.

This mild rafting trip down the Bow River is a great couple hour activity that takes you through the majestic Rockies with a raft guide to give you some history as well.

One of the largest inner city natural parks in the world is located in Calgary. This park offers 100's of km's of walking/biking paths and nature inside the city. You can visit the ice caves in the winter or grab an ice cream at Annie's in the summer.

Stop of one or two at one and continue to the others for more. Each brewery has something unique to offer.

Be sure to check out a hike or two while you're in the area and relax in the Banff Hot Springs before coming home.

There are local breweries, restaurants, unique shops, and many sights all nestled in the heart of the Alberta Rockies. This is a must see if you haven't been. Be sure to check out a hike or two while you're in the area and relax in the Banff Hot Springs before coming home.
Much like Banff, the lesser known Canmore is just a pretty, offering much of the same attractions as Banff. Each a beautiful in their own way however, Canmore is about 30 minutes closer. If you're pressed for time but still want to experience a beautiful town in the Rockies, this is also a must see.
