Food scene
K + Mark is a good supermarket chain in Phu Quoc. You should be able to find what you need there, including some fresh food items. There’s one that is within walking distance from our villa (about 750m) on DT45 road and right across from Lê Thúc Nha street. And there’s a bigger one is located in Duong Dong along the main road that runs up and down the island (it’s about 8-10 minutes by car or scooter from the villa.

Tin Tin delivers to Amaia Villa and offers a good mix of comfort western and Vietnamese dishes (e.g., pizza, spaghetti, egg rolls, fried calamari, etc.) for a reasonable price. The owner also speaks decent English.

Spa
[May not be open due to Covid] If you are into massages, you should check out Lotus Spa (it's right on your way to the scooter rental shop on the right, within walking distance) - I find this spa to be higher quality than other ones you might encounter in the area and they also open late.

The public beach in Ong Lang is located where this resort is. It's very well kept - you can rent beach chair and order drinks/eat there, but you can also walk a bit past the chairs and there's an area with a lot of palm trees that you can settle down with just a towel). It’s a short walk from the villa. Note that the beaches around Phu Quoc are normally very clean, calm and clear. But if you arrive during or right after a storm, please beware that plastics and other debris from the ocean might be washed up on the beach and you’ll see them there for a few days until the tides take them out to the sea again.

This beach is gorgeous and well known among visitors. It’s down South so it’s a little far from the villa. It’s about 45 mins by car.

Emerald Bay is a beautiful and well kept beach. You will need to access it through the JW Marriott but don’t worry there is public access for the beach. This one is close by Sao Beach (more pretty in my opinion and more secluded). There’s a nice restaurant right on the beach for food and drinks. There is no beach chair rental so bring big towels.

Emerald Bay is a beautiful and well kept beach. You will need to access it through the JW Marriott but don’t worry there is public access for the beach. One of the four island (Gam Ghi) is very good for snorkeling. Typically, you’d take a boat from Sao Beach to these islands – you can be among other tourists or charter your own trip. Sao Beach is about 45 minutes by car from the villa. Onbird Phu Quoc is a good company to charter a private tour.

It’s a 4-meter waterfall surrounded by lush rainforest, caves and rock pools. It’s an easy walk to reach from the main entrance (about 10 minutes). If you are into hiking, you can walk a bit further past the waterfall to reach Hang Doi (meaning “grotto of bats”) which is a cave formation. It’s a 30-minute car ride from the villa
