Kids rule this place. And if you get a red gumball from the machine they'll give you a free root beer float. All american food and it feel like you're stepping back in time to the 50ies.

One of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It has a family holiday feel. There is paid parking right by the sand and a take out cafe. Also bathrooms and changing rooms available too. It's just over a mile from the house. If you're planing on bringing chairs, toys and snacks, it's better to drive.

Sightseeing
Beautiful little island with quaint inexpensive shops and restaurants. You can catch the Ferry for $1 per person and reach the peninsula to avoid traffic. On the other side of the ferry there is Balboa Fun Zone which is full of touristy things like arcades, bungee jumping for kids, and other kid activities. Also there are a bunch of places where you can rent small boats, go parasailing, or jet skiing. Also rent bikes or paddle boards.
