Summer time: The Muskoka Wharf is Gravenhurst’s biggest attraction; . A boat cruise aboard the Segwun or Wenonah is a great way to see Lake Muskoka, the lunch or dinner is worth it. The wharf also has a boat museum, ice cream, Boston Pizza with a licensed patio overlooking Muskoka Bay (Wednesday evening is the waterski show), and a children's splash pad/playground, across the road. On Wednesday mornings (June-October) from 9am -2pm there is a busy farmers market located near the wharf, arrive early to get the butter tarts.

Bala is a nice village to visit, with its rapids, water-ski show (Tuesday evening), and ice cream. Bala has a Beer Store, LCBO, lunch spots, and groceries.
