Best bagel shop in downtown, and only a short jaunt down the road. The original owner is still here every single morning (I have never not seen him there) saying 'hello' to guests and maintaining great quality bagels and schmear. The coffee ain't bad either.

Enoteca Nostrana, the newly constructed wine bar attached to Nostrana (designed by the one and only Cathy Whims), offers fantastic wine offerings and cocktail concoctions, along with delectable pairings (prioritize the beverages if you're on a budget). It's a great stop on the way to a show or to dinner, and comfortable enough to enjoy an entire evening indulging. The design of this small bar is eye candy for the tourist and refreshing for the local.

It's on a block chock full of other fun eateries, coffee shops and gift stores, so carve out some time to explore while you're in this 'hood.

Best coffee in town. The 10 ounce latte is perfection, and their rotating espresso and pour over offerings make it easy to stop in every day and never get bored.
The Hawthorne location is super walkable (about a half mile) but don't miss their shop on SE Grand Ave. – it's a larger and more open space, also walkable (about a mile), and the Grand location also houses handmade furniture and toys by Bamboo Revolution for sale.
