Neighbourhood & Areas within easy access

Kilfenora - Hill House property is ideally located within easy access of areas of interest and natural beauty. On the door step of the Burren where you can spend endless hours if not days exploring its natural beauty. Visit the beaches of Lahinch, Fanore, or the rock pools at Clahane, Liscannor at low tide. You can sometimes happen across the wooden barrels at Clahane and avail of a sea weed bath - great for aches, pains, a laugh and over all well-being. If your interest lies in traditional music, no where better than Kilfenora itself home of the Kilfenora Ceile Band, catch some musicians who have sessions at Vaughans Barn during the summer months and in the local bars at Nagles & Linnanes. Doolin is within easy access and a session at O'Connors, McGanns or Mc Dermot's while having a bowl of mussels is worth mentioning. Potholing and you have Ailwee & Doolin Caves to explore. Surfing & water sports - Lahinch & Fanore Beaches. Fancy a slower pace of life - why not rent a bicycle locally and discover your own hidden gems. Check out the days catch at Liscannor Pier. Call in to the Liscannor Rock Shop for a spot of retail therapy and a coffee to break the journey en-route to The Cliffs of Moher, (scones are so fresh and tasty, especially early mornings, opens from 10.00 am on a Sunday). It's all there you can pick and choose to suit your time and interests. I have only touched the tip of the iceberg so to speak, there really is a huge variety of things to do in the area, so all I can add is ENJOY and do come back as its not possible to see all on one short trip.

The Burren- known worldwide for its landscape, shares much flora and fauna found only in arctic areas. Drive through taking in the many sites, the limestone pavements, hanging erratics (large bounders deposited by retreating glaciers million of years ago), the beautiful flowers in bloom from spring to fall. Make it a day out by stopping off and taking a picnic, food in the open air tastes so much better (weather permitting). Visit Mullaghmore and check out the many trails available there depending on your experience, time and fitness level, (always remember to have suitable clothing and footwear, sun protection, and mobile phone in the event of an emergency). There are many organised walking tours that you can book to get the best experience and maximise your time in the area. Visit the Burren Perfumery, sample there wonderful products and fragrances, have a coffee in the cafe and explore the gardens. View the dolmens - ancient burial chambers of our forefathers - at Poulnabrone.
