Just 20 miles east of Ramona, visit the romantic mountain town of Julian, California known for their delicious apple pies! You can tour The Eagle Mine established in 1870, and pan for gold. Pick apples beginning in mid-August through September in one of the many orchards. Picnic, hike, fish or ride on horses in and around this historic town. Viewing the Milky Way and night sky from Julian is special due to it's distance from the urban glow of San Diego and the surrounding mountains.
