ROKC on Broadway betw 141-140 is the fave, with high quality ramen, oysters, mixology and snacks. Popular, sometimes a wait, but I am hearing Perla Negra next door is a great new bar. OSO on Amsterdam betw 140-139 is a high quality Mexican with homemade tortillas and otherwise great food. L'ARTISTA is a cute Italian bar/restaurant with a live music program some days (142 Hamilton place, 1.5 blocks away) CHICK IN on Broadway betw 143-44 has popular fried chicken sandwiches and is a solid casual choice. SUGAR HILL CAFE on 145th has perhaps the best coffee, bagels and pastries plus other menu items. Walk right to end of 142, left on Convent to 145, right then halfway down hill. Great stop on way to A, B, C, D subways that are just 1/2 block further. Also there is a great smoothie and empanada place just North of 142 on this side of Amsterdam. Good breakfast or snack possibilities... Newer to the neighborhood are BIRD IN HAND, on Broadway and 146, with fancy cocktails and good bar food. Also OLIVA, a lovely large space for Tapas and more, located in one of Columbia’s new buildings at Broadway and 130 (about a 10 minute walk). Other places of interest: OMA: 1707 Amsterdam betw 144-45 - a cute peaceful "cofffee and home" store FLOR DE BROADWAY: near subway at 137th on other side of Broadway - newly remodeled but old school Dominican food and great Cubanos and cafe con leche UNCLE TONY’s: Best pizza by the slice, at Amsterdam (139-138) and FUMO (Amsterdam at 139), an Italian restaurant with personal pies and more, next door DINOSAUR BBQ fairly legendary, by river at 130th and the river. There is a nice park for picnicking there, and also the BAYLANDER, a naval ship parked on the water serving casual food and drink (in season) OOPS MAY HAVE SHIPPED OUT OH CRAFT: Craft beer and good burgers and nachos at 146 and Amsterdam ENJOY!!
