Going to watch a River Cats game during the summer is one of my most favorite activities. If you love baseball, the sun and everything that goes with it, make sure you catch a game. You can buy lawn seats for $10 and let the kids run around, or sit in a stadium seat and watch from there. You can't go wrong!

This place is amazing! The screen is HUGE and if you are lucky enough be here when a movie is playing in 3-D, make sure you add it to your agenda! The theatre is "old school" in that you will have assigned seating and ushers that will help you to your seat if needed. The kids absolutely love it!

I suggest taking Uber or Lyft as parking near the arena is somewhat pricey.

Located in Old Sacramento. If you enjoy comedy, you can't go wrong with Laughs Unlimited. They bring in some of the best comedians I have ever seen. Every time I go, my face hurts from laughing so hard. I believe you can purchase tickets ahead of time, but I also know you can get in to a show at the last minute as long as it is not sold out.

They have the BEST milkshakes and burgers around. If you have built up an appetite, try the Gold Rush burger. It has macaroni and cheese on it and is crazy good! But, don't even try leaving without a signature shake. Personally, I love the Nutty Buddy or Salted Caramel... But honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them! They also have a very cool bar you can belly up to. Everything from the atmosphere to the food is excellent!

This place has some of the best sushi around. When you go into the restaurant, you will have the option of sitting at a large bar, watching one of many flat screen tv's which are usually playing sports OR you can sit at a table, some of which still have views of the tv's. The staff is very welcoming and will make wonderful suggestions if you just want to "wing it." If you like sushi, you can't go wrong at Mikuni.

If you do sit at the bar, be prepared to be served by the nicest bartenders around!
If you come to Sacramento and do not go to Ricks Dessert Diner, you will kick yourself. There are no words to explain the sheer pleasure you will experience from a little sugar and flour. Wait, did I say a little.... check that. I meant A LOT of sugar and flour. I suggest elastic waistbands kids!

Just think "Historic" and "Modern." Just make sure you visit both, you won't regret it. Every month features a new exhibition so make sure to look at the calendar for the time you will be visiting (www.crockerartmuseum.org). In addition to art, there are also classes offered for the "artist at heart." The history behind the museum will draw you in and the artwork will keep you there

Mix is fairly popular if you are looking for a nightclub atmosphere. Large over-sized chairs and couches make it comfortable if you don't feel like standing all night. There is generally a cover charge as well.

This is literally within walking distance from my home. If you have never been to Old Sacramento, I would highly suggest you carve out some time and go. You can either walk or take an Uber/Lyft. Very family friendly and historic. Not to mention all the great shopping!
