fantastic vegan counter food - nothing "bready" at all. Great coffee. very small so get there before the rush! NOT loud either (like a lot of other cafes).

If you can make it this place does a nice brunch - $7.00 grilled breakfast. Not huge but a nice start to the day. Along with extra mushrooms and chai latte we have a nice breakfast for $27 for two

The best Iced Coffee or Mochachino in town I reckon at the moment. Not overly expensive at $6.50 for what you get. Being a bakery the rest of the counter food is very "bready" though. If they have the lasagne the portions are huge for $8.50

Now - the best thing about the UPSTAIRS cafe is it just SO QUIET. I believe it is called BLONDINIES. Not much in the way of food but you may get to realize that cafes are SO BLOODY NOISY - no body has any appreciation for acoustics in New Zeland (!) So this is a blessing at times.

Now - the best thing about the UPSTAIRS cafe is it just SO QUIET. I believe it is called BLONDINIES. Not much in the way of food but you may get to realize that cafes are SO BLOODY NOISY - no body has any appreciation for acoustics in New Zeland (!) So this is a blessing at times.
Drinks & Nightlife
Great for live bands and Jam Nights. Although most weekends there might be a cover charge other times it is free entry. They have an alcohol Ginger Beer which is really nice (but rather expensive as expected)

A classic wellington pub, great garden bar and good live entertainment which is always free. Be aware that this is not the "happening" end of wellington CBD though. If you want trendy crowds you need to head towards COURTNEY PLACE

This is the only safe surf beach and popular for swimming. Some great cafes but NOISY NOISY.

This is the only safe surf beach and popular for swimming. Some great cafes but NOISY NOISY.
This is the closest and BEST swimming beach to here. More interesting than Lyall Bay for swimming as has rocky outcrops and more scenic etc. Also part of Marine Reserve. Has toilets and cold showers
