Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

Incredible views! Waterfront family beach house

Welcome to Westward Cove on San Juan island, a spacious, waterfront house with incredible views on the west side of San Juan island. The house sits on one of the best sandy beaches in the San Juans and is the perfect spot for hanging out on the beach or launching your kayak. The house has excellent wildlife viewing, including eagles, seals, and Orca whales (April to October). Our home is a 10 minute drive to downtown Friday Harbor and 10 minutes to Lime Kiln State Park. 6 person (kids incl) max.

Spacious & private 1BR/1BA guest quarter in a house (my husband & I live next door) is located just 2 miles out of downtown Friday Harbor. It's conveniently situated to all that the island has to offer. The 872 sq.ft. of living space provides you with room to stretch and relax. Sorry no pets/babies are allowed. Comfortable one bedroom cottage with sun-room (in the winter months it is very pleasant on a sunny day, allowing you to relax after a day of exploring the island). There is also a back patio with a great view overlooking the lower pasture and wetland. BBQ and comfortable outdoor furniture. On a hot day the patio offers good shade. It comfortably fits two and is centrally located. An easy 15 minute drive to most attractions. Dog friendly with pet fee (please reach out if you have questions).
