Swallow Cottage, Auldgirth - north of Dumfries.

Swallow Cottage was lovingly converted by Steve and Sarah from McMurdoston's old granary in 2014 and provides a wonderfully peaceful place to stay while exploring Dumfries and Galloway. The cottage is only 20 minutes drive from a 24-hour supermarket, a cinema and numerous eateries, but once you get here you'll feel as if you are truly in the middle of nowhere. We live just across the yard if you need us and we'll do everything we can to make your stay comfortable, relaxing and quietly memorable.

Garple Loch Hut

Unfortunately no dogs/children/ infants are allowed as we are a working sheep farm & surrounded by water. One Bed Beautifully Restored Listed Cosy Bothy

NB: The barns opposite have recently been purchased and will be restored in due course, so daytime building works are possible. Our Bothy is a beautifully restored one-bedroom cosy and welcoming retreat in a peaceful setting, surrounded by an acre of meadow and hills. Just over a mile from the ducal village of Thornhill’s shops, cafés and pubs. Full of original character, it is an immaculate, fully equipped and comfortable base for relaxing, walking and exploring scenic Dumfries and Galloway.

The Steading Cottage

The Steading Cottage at Holmhill was once the stables and groom’s quarters to the elegant Georgian main house built by the Drumlanrig Castle Estate. It offers a cosy and beautifully appointed country retreat with breathtaking views over the beautiful Nith Valley and surrounding farmland, renown for its walks, wildlife and fishing. Valley View is my cosy detached house situated in a semi-rural location within 10 minutes drive from both Dumfries town centre and Thornhill. There are many things to do in Dumfries. It can be a parkland golf course, mountain bike trails at the 7 stanes, camera obscura, a farmers market, restaurants, children's play parks, hills, rivers, forest walks and much more. Dumfries' museums are also treasure troves for uncovering the local history including Robert Burns.

Charming chalet in peaceful rural location.

Our chalet is in our large, well managed garden. While it is near our house and we are happy to chat, we always respect peoples privacy. This is a very peaceful place where you can sit outside and watch the flames of the fire pit at night or stay in and have a cosy evening. Our neighbours are all of the four legged variety so some countryside noises are to be expected but the cows love to come and greet you at the wall. Parking space in garden

Welcome to our idyllic riverside cottage. Nestled in the picturesque Dumfries & Galloway countryside and set on the banks of Cairn Water. The area is rich with wildlife. Red squirrel, deer, kingfisher, woodpecker, red kite, buzzard and otter are just a few of the local visitors spotted from our garden. Stepford Station Cottage is the perfect cosy retreat for nature lovers. We welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs at no extra fee.

A Victorian Schoolhouse, now a cozy and stylish home. The Old Schoolhouse has 3 bedrooms, shower room & en suite bathroom. Wood stove in the lounge, open fire in the kitchen, and central heating. Light, bright, with a large garden looking onto the fields beyond- snowdrops in the spring, cherries in summer, and apples in autumn. The occasional escapee hen wandering about. The perfect place for a proper holiday.
