Orton itself is very popular and is situated on the famous Coast to Coast route. It has an award winning cafe and a chocolate shop, a monthly farmers market, a village store and a village pub! The Cottage is surrounded by beautiful countryside and woodlands or just walk a few hundred yards out of the door and you can walk for miles along the beach.

Ashes Cottage is a beautiful, bright, 17th century farm cottage with picture postcard views from every window. It is cosy, warm and full of modern amenities such as underfloor heating and a log burning stove. From the front door there are footpaths to Staveley village with its selection of pubs, cafes and shops. Only 15 minutes drive to Lake Windermere - it's a fantastic base to explore The Lake District. Afternoons on the patio watching the sheep are highly recommended!
