Doe Mountain Cabin #1 Direct Access to Trails

Our secluded cabins are on top of a mountain with on-property access to the Doe Mountain Recreational Area Trail #15. Close to National and State Parks, Skiing, Hiking, Watauga Lake, Boone and Blowing Rock, NC; Damascus and Abingdon, VA . We are centrally located to major attractions but be careful if sightseeing, adventure, or family fun is on your agenda. Once you are here, you might not want to leave. The Haven on The Virginia Creeper Trail

Located on the Virginia Creeper bike trail, we are only a 20 min. drive from the summit of beautiful Whitetop Mtn. If hiking and biking are your thing, this is the place to stay, as we are 3 miles from the Appalachian Trail, and a 20 min. drive to Grayson Highlands state park. Downtown Damascus is a 25 min. drive, and Abingdon is 40 minutes. Both towns have cute shops, restaurants, coffee, parks, and antique stores. Bristol is located approx. 50 min. from our home, and Boone, NC about an hour.

The Bungalow is a cozy not-so-tiny home at 420 sq ft. A 16x20 Gothic Arched building designed and built by the owner. Besides a fully equipped kitchen, lovely bathroom, and comfortable sleeping quarters, you will find wonderful amenities outside! Views of mountains, pasture, and woods. Relax in a hammock or tell your secrets to Drifter the horse. Often Mr Groundhog or the Deer family will visit, too. The Bungalow at Grandpa's Mountain is a quiet getaway.
