The Shoemakers Cottage has undoubtedly one of the best locations in Whitby right at the bottom of the 199 steps tucked in a quiet alley off the cobbled street. A small but cosy romantic cottage over 3 floors close to the harbour, the abbey and very close to Tate Hill Beach. BBQ and picnic basket set provided. Romantic victorian freestanding bath in the main bedroom. Arrival is down the busy cobbled church street. Best location. On-street parking scratch card provided in the W zone 10min walk.

A well appointed self catering kitchen opens onto the living/dining room again with a panoramic view of Filey Bay. A travel cot and high chair can be requested for the smallest of our guests.

Return to the dog field for afternoon tea or a glass of wine, where a bench for two in a peaceful sun trap provides panoramic views of the setting sun.

The ground floor comprises a generous entrance hall and large open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. There is ample seating for both dining and relaxing and 3 sets of bifold doors open onto a patio and BBQ area with outdoor seating. There are unrestricted sea views and a large grassed area which is perfect for children and our furry friends to play on.

Spend your days walking on the beach or moors and wolds, then enjoy a drink at our village pub, then back to the cottage to sit by the log burner.
