Hungry Mother Island is a unique three bedroom cabin on its own island surrounded by Hungry Mother Creek at Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, VA. Located off the Back of the Dragon Trail & bordered by Hungry Mother State Park along with George Washington & Jefferson National Forest. Nearby multiple wilderness areas, superb mountain stream fishing, small lake fishing, swimming area & beach, wildlife management areas & miles of trails offer tons of natural amenities and outdoor opportunities.

Step back in time with this original 1890s Appalachian solar powered off grid cabin. The cabin has been renovated with all the modern conveniences: solar-powered and includes hot water, gas stove, full bathroom w/ shower, refrigerator, sleeper sofa folds out to queen size bed. With each stay fresh towels and linens are furnished. Kitchen, hot/cold kitchen sink, K cup friendly coffee machine and more! Covered front porch with bench and 2 rockers. Off the porch is a picnic table and gas grill.

The Starlite

The Starlite at Ruakh is a private luxury geodesic dome tucked along the edge of the woods on our 87-acre farm in Tazewell County, Virginia. Designed for quiet getaways, slow mornings, clear night skies, and time by the fire, this 500-square-foot dome blends the comfort of a thoughtfully finished stay with the feeling of being close to the land. Charming 40s era cottage located minutes from Marion downtown. Enjoy the convenience of town with the feeling of country living. Bring your bikes and ride the Back of the Dragon ( space to park a trailer at the home), spend the day at Hungry Mother, visit your Emory & Henry student for the weekend or make a 40 minute drive and try your luck at the new Hard Rock casino in Bristol. Marion is the perfect location for outdoor lovers. 15 minutes from Mount Rogers visitor center and the AT.

Campside Cottage

Campside Cottage--a vacation retreat located across from Camp Burson at the entrance of Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, Virginia. Relax around the campfire, hike or bike the many trails, lounge on the beach with a good book, or cast your line to catch a big one! Enjoy the beautiful views of the Appalachian mountains while paddleboarding or kayaking Hungry Mother Lake. Don't forget to go shopping or sample the restaurants of America's Coolest Hometown! The Creekside Lodge

Sit back and relax at this unique and tranquil getaway. Located on Brumley Creek, you can enjoy the patio and grill trout that you were fortunate enough to catch during your stay. If outdoor excursions are your thing, the lodge is conveniently located near Hidden Valley & Laurel Bed Lakes. Additionally, the Channels & the Creeper trail are nearby. We are also a short drive to downtown Abingdon, VA (20 minutes), Lebanon, VA (20 minutes), or Bristol, TN/VA (40 minutes).

Whether visiting the beautiful mountains to bike or hike the Creeper Trail, sightseeing in the historical Abingdon or Bristol area, attending a game at E&H or just passing through to another destination, our goal is to provide a warm and welcoming home for your getaway. Resting on an acre of land and right off I 81 enjoy your stay in our cozy, country cottage.

A Bit of Heaven Rental:Cove Suite Warrior Trail

Take a step back in time. Rural America. Before fast food chains, and even before Walmart... Surrounded by Mountains and conveniently located, direct access to Warrior Trailhead and High Rocks. Enjoy Wilmore Dam, or perhaps a day at Berwind Lake trout fishing, or hiking. This can be purchased with the main house or as a stand alone unit. If purchased together the price will be reduced to $40 a night. Guest will have entire space to themselves.

Valley View Cabin

You will relax and reconnect in this beautiful valley nestled in the Southwest Virginia mountains. Sit on the porch and soak up those mountain views. Relax in the hot tub and count the stars. Reconnect with your spouse as you unplug from the hustle and bustle. Rest, laugh, enjoy! The cabin is located on a working family farm. You can purchase beef, pork, and chicken to cook while you’re here or bring a cooler and take some home.
