Spacious rooms in magnificent listed Georgian mansion - one of the most beautiful and oldest houses in Torquay. With up-to 5 rooms available it's ideal for families and groups of friends. Every room is large and bright. There's plenty of parking along with the peace and quiet of a secluded, totally private location.
On the 2nd floor are three double bedrooms, a huge sitting/dining room (with sofa bed), a shower room and a snug with microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. On the floor below there is a spectacular double with private modern shower/wet room and access to a shared bathroom. With sea views from both of the double bedrooms and the sitting room on the second floor, we think you'll find these one of the nicest AirBnBs you'll have stayed in. If you choose to book the 3 rooms on the 2nd floor then you will have exclusive use of the shower room, snug (with microwave, fridge kettle and toaster) and massive sitting room; it's basically a three bedroomed apartment accessed through the main house. If you are booking for 9 or 10 people please be aware that one/two of these will need to use the sofa bed in the 2nd floor sitting room (or we can add a single bed to one of the double bedrooms).
Ideally situated for the Riviera International Centre, International Agatha Christie Festival, Torquay beach, the Princess theatre and Torquay station - all are a short walk away. The Chelston part of Torquay is a leafy suburb with lots of fine Victorian villas and the seafront is but a 10 minute walk. The award winning Cockington Court and historic Torre Abbey are both within easy walking distance.

Några bra pubar men i Kingswear: The Steam Packet Inn och The Ship Inn (ny förvaltning 2019), båda 5-10 min promenad. Det är möjligt att hyra hela huset. The Owners Suite, Room One och Room Two.

    Allaleigh, Blackawton, Totnes, Devon, Storbritannien

The barn is nestled in a small hamlet with a handful of houses and makes the perfect base for a spot of isolation. You will be hard pushed to bump into anyone. Get away and soak up our wonderful view over Devon countryside and the fresh air! We take our guests’ health seriously, ensuring every surface is cleaned with disinfectant and we use high water temperatures for all our washing. We also provide cleaning products, soap and hand wash that you can use during your stay.
Our barn is stocked with essential food items as well as an ‘honesty’ mini bar. We also provide logs for the fire, plenty of magazines, books, games, WiFi and a TV. Most guests don’t even need to see or interact with us, the hosts, but only if they wish to, at a safe distance. Our closest village, Stoke Gabriel, is still open for business with a well-stocked village shop offering free food deliveries and The River Shack on the water front of the River Dart is open for al fresco dining and take-away wood-fired pizza. There are countless green lanes, fields, paths, hills, coastal walks and valleys to traipse over with little human contact. We can provide you with a list of all the spots where you can visit. Our place nestles in the small hamlet of Aish above the village of Stoke Gabriel near Totnes. Sit in front of the wood burning stove and peer out of the double height window to the fields and the river Dart beyond. Some mornings, you’ll see our resident male pheasant strutting his stuff on the garden wall. Occasionally, you may also spot a deer or two in the orchard or fields below. We are environmentally minded and do as much as we can to help lower our impact on the planet. Please see below, and our house manual, for a list of our eco credentials. We have used high quality fixtures and fittings throughout. The king sized bed is super comfy. The sofa bed is brand new and is a pull-out version rather than one of those uncomfortable fold out ones! The kitchen has been made bespoke by a local artisan and comes equipped with everything you might need including a full size oven, microwave and a small hob. As the space is small we can't include absolutely everything but please do ask us if you need anything at all! We also leave essentials such as tea, coffee, milk, olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper ready in the kitchen making it that much easier to relax the minute you arrive. The garden is adjacent to our own but has its own little terrace with a small table and chairs - as well as a BBQ. We have kept the place as uncluttered as possible to allow guests to escape the everyday. However, if there is anything you feel you need please just ask and I'm sure we can provide it! Please note that it is best to have your own transport if staying with us as Aish has no amenities. The closest shop, pubs and restaurants are in the village of Stoke Gabriel which is a 5 minute drive or a 30 minute walk away. We are environmentally minded and do as much as we can to help lower our impact on the planet. Here are a few of the things we do: The barn is run entirely on electricity and therefore uses no fossil fuels. We have a 4kw solar panel system on our roof that helps generate electricity for the barn. For any further electricity we use Bulb Energy, which buys all of its electricity from renewable sources. We use biodegradable bin liners and recycled loo/ kitchen rolls. We use refillable options for cleaning products and washing powders that do not come in plastic. We use entirely organic ingredients in our scones and leave you organic, local milk. The teabags we choose (Clipper) have no plastic in them unlike most teabags. You will find reusable shopping bags for you to use in the kitchen. We provide a water filter so you don't need to buy bottled water. We recycle as much as possible.
A short drive away, nearby Stoke Gabriel is a lively village with a well-stocked village shop, two pubs, a BYO bistro, and a cafe on the waterfront by the Mill Pond. Totnes and all its restaurants, cafes, and shops is also close by car.

Tilly’s is self contained and set in the courtyard of our farm, situated at the end of a long post and rail, private drive. We live in the farmhouse. Surrounded by our 50 acres and with a large garden for your sole use, (a short walk across the yard) you can be sure of no light pollution, many delightful places to walk and plenty of peace and tranquility. The walk-in shower has oodles of hot water and plenty of space, with quality towels, shampoo, and shower gel. The King size bed is delightfully comfortable; perfect after a day exploring the South Hams. Tilly's has it's own large garden - approximately 10 meters from the front door. There is a covered hot tub (We reserve the right to withdraw / close this facility if there is a mechanical breakdown, severe weather / ice or other issue that makes it deemed unsafe to use) as well as seating and BBQ. Thermostatic central heating throughout. NOTE: Tilly's is extremely popular . . . if your dates are not available, why not check out our other beautiful property - Lofty's which is now available as a one bedroom option for couples (we close off the 2nd bedroom). The nightly price quoted is based on 2 people. It also has its own private hot tub and some fabulously quirky design!
Kingsbridge is just under 5 miles away and the nearest villages (2 miles) are Slapton, East Allington and Blackawton. – each has a traditional village pub. Within 20 minutes you could be at either Dartmouth, Salcombe or one of the many award winning sandy beaches the South Hams has to offer. Dartmoor is less then half an hour from Tilly's - well worth a day out.

Very picturesque area of south Devon, overlooking the river Dart. Fantastic sitting out on the terrace in warmer weather sipping on a glass of wine - ah the life! Kingswear has it all and an amazing pub which makes the best pizza in Devon. Not for the faint hearted however, it's rather hilly, but great exercise! Short walk to bus into Paignton and Brixham and beyond. Overlooking Dartmouth which is full of quirky little shops and cafes, and hosts an annual regatta in August.
My spare room is just off the kitchen at the opposite end of the flat from the rest of the rooms so quite private. Direct access onto the terrace. The bed is a very comfortable day bed (ask my cats!) and I use the room as a home office (when not hosting). This is a vegan household so please respect that. I dont mind dairy products being brought in, stored in the fridge, etc but cooking meat is an absolute no no! I have two cats who rule the house so if you're not a cat lover this is probably not the place for you. Used to having couchsurfers so thought I'd give this a go. Please don't expect a palace - the room is priced cheaply as I'd rather no one expected hotel standards! Oh and bathroom is shared hence why I'd prefer single travellers only.
Check out the Steampacket, Coleton Fishacre, and Greenway. Then there's always Dartmouth and Kingswear castles, take a boat trip up to Totnes, down the coast to Blackpool beach or round to Torquay. So many options. Just ask if there's anything you want to know about the area.

The Old Brewhouse is a stunning Grade II Listed holiday home, just a step back from the quayside in Dittisham. Cleverly renovated around the quirky angles this old house has provided, this property has become a favourite with couples and families alike to enjoy Dittisham, The Dart and the wider South Hams.  Combining old with new, this bright, contemporary home makes the most of the river views through its Gothic leaded windows in the lounge and the master bedroom set in the eves. The quayside, Ferry Boat Inn and Anchorstone Café are all on your doorstep (don't worry the pub is not known to get rowdy). Dittisham is a great location for families with children as they will love crabbing from the pontoon and The Ham provides a good open space to let off steam. Guests have access to a private parking space off-site and a small private courtyard at the rear of the property.
Accommodation: Through the bespoke front door from Manor Street into the hallway that takes you straight through to the contemporary kitchen diner  A velux window in the part high vaulted ceiling and the patio door fill the room with light, the kitchen area on the far wall is compact but at the same time very well-equipped, open shelving means most items are all within arms reach. The kitchen is equipped with an integrated fridge with ice box, washing machine/tumble dryer, dishwasher, electric oven and halogen hob with handcrafted oak worktop and shelves over. The dining table and chairs comfortably seat 4 with a wall mounted TV and DVD. There is a bathroom off the kitchen which contains a bath with shower over, Roca toilet, basin and heated chrome towel rail. Upstairs to the first floor sitting room with dual aspect Gothic leaded windows; providing east and west river views. Painted beams and exposed stonework pay homage to the history of the building. The sofa (sofa bed as an alternative to the bunk beds), Armchair and modern pine coffee table with TV and DVD. On this floor there is a childs bunk room with built in bunk beds under the pitch of the roof, storage has cleverly and playfully been built in around the angles of the room. Upstairs again the eves of the house where guests will find the en suite master bedroom. Again combining the old and the new with exposed roof trusses and arched Gothic window creating a quirky yet comfortable space with lovely river views to wake up to, Velux windows fill the room with light with a few items of playful decor that reflect the owners fun and free spirited personality. The en suite bathroom is cleverly squeezed in with bath, Roca toilet and basin, there is a hand held shower head however very few can stand in the bath. Outside: There is a small walled courtyard off the kitchen with sandstone paving, pebble margin, garden furniture, barbecue, bollard lighting, small power (hot and cold) shower – ideal for washing wet suits and children. Though it isn't the spot for basking in the sun, it is a nice area for alfresco dining or a peaceful morning coffee. Parking: It is possible to pull out up outside for loading/unloading, an allocated parking space is provided at the top on Manor Street (about 500 yards away). Please note Manor Street is quite steep. Availability: In the peak season, May, June, July and August we need to keep to Saturday changeovers and a minimum stay of 7 nights. However, please do contact me with any requests you may have, and we will accommodate if possible. Out of peak season we don't need to keep to a Saturday changeover. Please get in touch if you need any advice or tips on places to visit, walks (we're right on the South West Coast path), pubs & restaurants etc. Google "The Old Brewhouse Dittisham" to find out more and get in touch.

Location, location, location. Situated in the very heart of the village centre on the River Dart, you can explore all of the facilities right from your doorstep as well as having access to the beautiful South Devon coast and countryside. This private ground floor apartment has been lovingly restored from what was the local Post Office for over 100 years. The olde worlde theme is complemented by luxury finishes such as a bespoke kitchen, new ensuite facility and a warm, snug fireplace.
The kitchen/living area is open plan, spacious and comfortable. You can dine formally at the table by the window or on your lap by the fireplace and tv. Cosy, relaxing armchairs allow you to sit back, read a paper or good book in quiet, private surroundings. The separate bedroom has an ensuite shower and toilet. Out of your front door is the village centre with its pubs, eateries, Post Office store and newsagents, ancient village church (with 800 year old yew tree) and orchard which leads down to the mill pond and river. To eat and drink; There are 2 pubs serving excellent food. Emma's Bistro does great home cooking with a varied menu including locally sourced fish. It is not licensed so you can take your own alcohol (no corkage charge)! The Rivershack lies on the river Dart and offers snacks and a Bistro style menu as well as local beers, ciders and wine. A lovely setting and booking is advisable in peak periods. Stoke Gabriel has no main roads, lots of country lanes to explore as well as the riverside walk. The accommodation doesn't have outside space of its own but the orchard and mill pond are on your doorstep. The village is a typical and beautiful Devon village in an area of outstanding natural beauty, safe to walk around with its old narrow roads, mill pond, orchard and riverside access.
This riverside village offers all you need for a relaxing holiday or a short break away. A walk by the river, stroll around the country lanes, take lunch in the pubs, it's all on your doorstep. A superb base to explore the South Devon coast, countryside and Dartmoor.

The second bedroom has a standard double bed and chest of drawers. Bedroom three is a twin with zip and link beds that can be made up as a kingsize bed. The fourth bedroom is a single room adjoining the twin room which has an additional put-me-up bed if required. All rooms are light and airy with velux windows throughout. There is a family bathroom on the 1st floor with bath, shower over, toilet and basin. Travel cot and highchair available. Outside The garden is predominantly lawn with mature fruit trees and shrubs and has river views. There is a lovely patio area with outside furniture, chiminea and barbeque as well as a pétanque court. A shallow stream runs through the garden to a second pond that whilst located in the meadow adjoining the garden is not covered – parents therefore will need to be on hand to supervise at all times. This family friendly holiday cottage in Dittisham can be booked with the adjacent self-contained apartment ‘Little Meadow’ that sleeps 2, a perfect escape for grandparents on an extended family holiday. Parking: The property is accessed via a long drive with allocated parking spaces. Availability: In the peak season, May, June, July and August we need to keep to Saturday changeovers and a minimum stay of 7 nights. However, please do contact me with any requests you may have and we will accommodate if possible. Out of peak season we don't need to keep to a Saturday changeover. Please get in touch if you need any advice or tips on places to visit, walks (we're right on the South West Coast path), pubs & restaurants etc. Google "Middle Meadow Dittisham" to find out more and get in touch.
