Beaches
The beach you'll be staying on and one of the most beautiful bays on the island. Here is home to local fishermen and a wide spectrum of island expats. Catch a long tail boat ride from here to Bottle Beach or Tong Nai Pan. Tip: feel like cooking fish tonight? For the freshest of the fresh the fishermen will usually sell you their catch straight off the boat.

Chaloklum Beach

For the freshest of the fresh the fishermen will usually sell you their catch straight off the boat.
To the left of Chaloklum Bay, this small but peaceful beach gets it’s name from the fine white sand and turquoise water. There is lots of shade here and a volley ball court as well. Warning - if you are sensitive to sand fleas this beach is known to have lots at certain times of the year.

A gorgeous bay surrounded by large boulders and lots of nature, still untouched by large resorts and where the original Full Moon Party took place. Catch a 15 minute boat from Chaloklum Bay for around 150 baht per person.

Bottle Beach

Our personal favourite beach, Coral Bay is a short 5 minute drive to the east of Chaloklum. There are only a few guest houses here and in low season you might be the only one on the whole beach. The shore is lined with tall trees providing lots of shade and scattered boulders for climbing. There is a significant amount of coral in the water but this is great for snorkelling with lots of colorful fish swimming around. Families of monkeys can be seen swinging in the trees most days.

Our personal favourite beach, Coral Bay is a short 5 minute drive to the east of Chaloklum. There are only a few guest houses here and in low season you might be the only one on the whole beach. The shore is lined with tall trees providing lots of shade and scattered boulders for climbing. There is a significant amount of coral in the water but this is great for snorkelling with lots of colorful fish swimming around. Families of monkeys can be seen swinging in the trees most days.
Located on the northwestern tip of the island, Mae Haad and Koh Mah are only a short drive away from Chaloklum. This once serene beach is now home to a few large resorts but it hasn’t spoiled the setting too much. Here you will see the much photographed sand bar leading out to the small island of Koh Mah, a fantastic spot to snorkel or kayak. Just up the hill is 360 Bar and Treehouse Bar, a great spot to enjoy the sunset.

Located on the northwestern tip of the island, Mae Haad and Koh Mah are only a short drive away from Chaloklum. This once serene beach is now home to a few large resorts but it hasn’t spoiled the setting too much. Here you will see the much photographed sand bar leading out to the small island of Koh Mah, a fantastic spot to snorkel or kayak. Just up the hill is 360 Bar and Treehouse Bar, a great spot to enjoy the sunset.
