Tucked away in a quiet hollow, this mountain cabin amplifies the soothing sounds of the nearby Sandy River as they echo through an old growth forest. The hollow's unique geography provides half an acre of private forest, river access, and views of the Cascade Mountains.

Quail Hollow, private studio

This studio has a kitchenette, sink, fridge, toaster oven, microwave, toaster, coffee and hot water maker. There is a queen bed, leather chair, dining table and chairs, a few books and some games. The bathroom has a clawfoot tub, walk in shower, and vanity sink The windows face farm/woodland views and there is a 1/2 mile woodland trail out the back door. This studio is clean with awesome artesian well water. You can park 10 feet from the door and pets are welcome, I have a $15/day pet fee.

Wake up to the river view from the king size bed upstairs or downstairs sunroom. Repeat. Just under an hour from Portland, 35 mins to Timberline, 10 mins to Mt Hood National Forest.

Private A-Frame (for 4 people) and separate studio bedroom/bathroom behind the garage (for 2 people.) Please note: the studio must be requested in advance. The A-Frame is on the edge of the Mount Hood National Forest. • Walk or drive to the Salmon River trailheads and Salmon River Slab. • 15 min to French's Dome. • 20 to 30 min to Timberline and Mount Hood Meadows, x-country and snow-shoeing at Trillium or Teacup. Dwell-Featured Modern Tiny Cabin | Mt Hood Region

The Woodlands Hideout is a small intentional semi-offgrid retreat space, featured on Dwell. It was designed and built by Further Society and created to allow guests to immerse in the beauty of the natural world, but still offer some cozy and more essential comforts. Although the footprint of the space is small, we designed the experience to be outward focussed, so it feels very expansive with the towering pine trees in view.
