Big R's Retreat Secluded and located in Nature

Welcome to our home: where we have found peace and relaxation for over 20 years. A German native, Big R fell in love with the open land and rolling hills of Wisconsin, becoming a US citizen in the 80s. He met Curly, a Chicago city girl, who brought a little city to his country life. They enjoy raising buffalo and spending warmer days on their porch enjoying the fresh air and beautiful views (with no mosquitos!). Now they want to share their idyllic and peaceful home with you. Drive down a dead-end road and pull up to a rustic cabin filled with high-tech and cozy amenities. We have something for everyone with a gas fireplace, tv (complete with dish, Cinemax, HBO and a Bluetooth sound system), board games and a full kitchen. Take a drink outside to soak in the hot tub or sit around the campfire. When the day is done, you will fall asleep instantly on the memory foam bed, either in the loft or the bedroom, and wake up to a beautiful sunrise looking out over your little getaway.

Mill House Retreat

The Mill House Retreat is a 2 story loft set in a park like setting next to the Sugar River. Built in 1864, this stone grist mill has soaring 15ft ceilings, original fittings and luxurious finishes. You will be greeted by chesterfield sofas, a large bar, a copper tub and comfortable beds. Just minutes to bike trails, live music, restaurants, and bars. Guests are welcome to have local friends over to enjoy the setting and reminisce. Madison, New Glarus and Epic are just minutes away.

Entire Lower Level, Countryside Garden Suite

Welcome to our home! We have upgraded our Garden (lower) Level to host travelers much like ourselves and long-term guests. The view of our backyard is incredible! You will find yourself lost in the country, yet less than ten minutes from all the excitement that Madison has to offer. Along with a private drive and entrance, you will have 1,000 square feet of comfort all to yourselves. This property is perfect for a quiet getaway we all need from time to time. All designed with you in mind.

Our farmhouse property is in a unique and lovely location for family gatherings, small wedding, reunions, retreat or celebration and just a great place to get away to rest and recharge. Creative souls love my marvelous studio retreat, a delightful one-room loft-style space featuring tall ceilings, an entire wall of sliding glass doors, kitchenette, piano, and an expansive view of a picturesque barn, pasture, and wooded hills. This amazing, heated, spacious country getaway has no plumbing— it's just a few steps across the yard to the main house guest bathroom. Come create, relax, and renew here! Well-behaved dogs, included in your reservation, must be leashed when outside.

Loft 3 - On The Historic Monroe Square

Loft 3 is 40 steps (2 flights of stairs) above the Monroe Square. It's a climb, but the view is totally worth it! Newly remodeled in 2021, and reminiscent of the 1859 character of the building, this space is cute, cozy, and truly one of a kind. Literally a couple steps away from your entryway is Sunrise Donut Cafe, featuring customized donuts and a full menu of excellent coffee items. From there, explore the rest of the Square for food, drinks, and shopping in a quaint Main Street atmosphere.

Funky, tidy 23 year old country cabin on 120 acres of farmland & woods in a private, quiet rural setting. It's cozy, 950 sq ft, built with stone and wood. Open concept with a two story fireplace, porch fireplace, firepit, and open loft for sleeping (1 bed), with spiral stairs, lots of windows, walnut floors and trim, oak beams and pine kitchen tops. Shower is big and open, with doors opening to a back deck for outdoor showering. Beautiful covered porch overlooking rolling meadows and woods.

Campo di Bella Winery & Family Farm LLC

Welcome to Campo di Bella Farmstay. We have created a private retreat above our winehouse on our farm. You will enjoy the sights and sounds of country living. Weekend Farm to Table dinners available on-site and we typically reserve seating for our farmstay guests. From December to end of March, we are only offering dinners on Friday nights. Max room rate $175.00. Please note that during winter months, we are on a private road and snowplowing may be completed by early afternoon.
