The National Trust's Great Chalfield Manor and Garden, Wiltshire, is a 15th-century manor house with an Arts and Crafts garden. Wolf Hall and Wives and Daughters amongst many things filmed here.

This is a lovely 30 minute walk from the flat across the fields great if you have a dog and want a nice walk without getting in the car again.

Great Chalfield Manor is a beautiful National Trust site to visit and it is ten minutes away by foot. There are lovely gardens you can walk around, with a large house and a small church. Check opening times on the National Trust website, or stop outside for a picnic if you don't fancy going in. Directions: walk up the track, turn left at the kissing gate before you reach the top, walk through two fields to reach the road and head straight for around 200m and it will be on your left.
