One if my favorite local spots. There are beautiful shore birds including anhinga, rosette spoonbills, hawks, kingfisher and others. You may see a gator or two as well, but do not approach! Drive to location. Park and then walk the trail around the water. In the summer months, you may wish to opt for mornings before the heat of the day or before the mosquitoes come, which is closer to dusk. Keep in mind that in Florida, there are usually late afternoon thunderstorms in the summertime.
