Scheveningen is a 15-minute tram ride from the center of The Hague. Most attractions are open daily throughout the year.The Hague’s seaside suburb of Scheveningen is also the most popular holiday resort in The Netherlands. Just a tram ride from the center of the city, Scheveningen has a 2.5-mile (four km) long promenade backing a sandy beach and the pristine waters of the North Sea. It had its heyday in the 19th century but recent injections of cash have spruced the town up to its former gentility. Our favorite part of Den Haag. Take tram number 11 (5min walk) to station Strandweg, walk along our beautiful and vast beach until you hit the pier. Best place to hang out on a sunny day, with lots of bars and shops, a ferris wheel and Holland's most famous bungee jump.

Much busier than Westduin beach ( which is a nature reserve) , Scheveningen beach and boulevard are designed for the many. On the beach itself there are some very nice places. Tramline 11 from Weimarstraat ( 5 mins walk) will take you there. ( and to the Haagse Markt in opposite direction). For food check the harbour area. Simonis is the best known fish restaurant.
