Best food porn in Oklahoma. Tell your doctor you ordered a fruit parfait and kale salad. Your doctor will know you lied because they were in line behind you. No one on their deathbed ever said they regretted eating at Nelson's Buffeteria.

Nelson’s is one of Tulsa’s iconic restaurants. They have a choice of eight menu items as well as daily Blue Plate Specials. You also get a choice of two sides and a roll. As you start eating, you will sometimes hear the server shouting “Hello, Chicken” – letting the cooks know that they are close to running out of Chicken Fried Chicken and that he needs more ASAP. The waitresses are individuals who have spent decades perfecting their craft. It is the ambiance of this Tulsa icon that stays with you (as well as live music for Friday lunch). This family-owned business was founded in 1929 by Nelson Rogers, Sr in downtown Tulsa. They have moved several times since then, now settling on South Memorial. It is one of Tannie’s favorite restaurants. 4401 South Memorial Drive

Nelson's Buffeteria is a unique restaurant experience that is a cross between a buffet and a cafeteria. Much of its history was made in downtown Tulsa, where it was founded in 1929 by Nelson Rogers Senior. The original location was at 12 W. 4th Street. Nelson's is particularly famous for its chicken-fried steaks and meringue pies.
