There is a trail running right around Matheson Lake. It’s a good hike. If you take your time it’s a couple of hours. There is a beach for swimming. An island in the middle of the lake is calling for a kayak and a picnic.

Matheson lake is only 20 minutes away and a beautiful lake for swimming or hiking around. Warm lake with child friendly smaller beach, with other spots to enter along the trail, to hike around takes a little over an hour, with some challenging spots.

Matheson Lake is a beautiful lake with sensitive ecosystems and set amongst the hills of the Metchosin region with a scenic hiking trail all around the lake. Great for swimming in the summer months.

This is a popular lake about 12 minutes south of here. It has a loop trail 4 km long that goes around the entire lake.
