Belas Knap is an ancient neolithic burial ground. To get there from the town there is a lovely (but quite steep at times!) walk, which follows some ancient walking routes
Distance from here: 40 min drive/17 miles. A great example of a Neolithic long barrow. Lovely walk to the barrow includes a steep climb through woodland and fields, two stiles and a kissing gate. Winchcombe is close by with shops and places to eat.
A short drive from Fifteen off the Green, Park your car and walk to Belas Knap (GL54 5AL, 2 miles), a Neolithic burial chamber thought to date back to about 3800 B.C. Quite a steep walk though ... sorry!!
Belas Knap is a particularly fine example of a neolithic long barrow, with a false entrance and side chambers. Excavated in 1863 and 1865, the remains of 31 people were found in the chambers. The barrow has since been restored. Accessible via local Cotswold way circular walk.
