Another one of my must see destinations. A dramatic castle ruin on a cliff edge surrounded by rolling lush green Welsh hills. Are you brave to venture down the cave? 45 mins drive away from Kidwelly.

Carreg Cennen Castle is a castle near the River Cennen, in the village of Trap, four miles south of Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The castle is within the Brecon Beacons National Park, and its location has been described as spectacular, due to its position above a limestone precipice.

Scenic, romantic ruins of a 13th-century castle and cave, with tearoom and craft shop. Open all year round from 9.30m, entry in to the castle grounds £6.50, no need to book you can buy your ticket in the tearoom. If you just want to walk and explore outside of the castle, the carpark is free and you can enjoy the circular walks. Located 4 miles away from the barns on the edge of The Brecon Beacons, great walks and sightseeing. Sign posted red and green circular routes to follow. Well behaved dogs are welcome, but they need to stay on a lead as this is also a working farm.

Beautiful walk up to the castle through a farm which boasts a cafe and small shop. This is a CADW site so free for members.

Jaw droppingly beautiful plus on a clear day you can see the Brecon Beacon Mountains. Various lengths of walks around here and see if you can find the source of the river Lougher, which gushes out from a cliff.
