With loungers on the sands, café chairs under brollies on the Promenade, and a sheltered playground, this grass-roofed café is a popular eatery for families. Follow an early-morning ocean dip with a stack of granola crumpets and homemade berry yoghurt, seasonal fruit, toasted almonds and a drizzle of honey, or brave a local favourite: spicy chicken livers with peri-peri sauce and two poached eggs on toasted ciabatta. Later in the day there are gourmet burgers, pastas and wraps, all good value for money; but it’s the setting that counts.

Food is ok and you may have to wait to get a table, but its a fun location and if you get a seat in the beach section the kids will have a ball playing in the sand!
